no doubt at some time in hong kong you will see (and notice) the convention centre wheather you are at tsim sha tsui promenade ot on hong kong island. it is very photogenic and you will probably find yourself having your photo taken with it in the background. you can browse inside the convention centre, but its exterior is more interesting than its interior.

View of Kowloon from Convention Centre. The ship behind offers cruises in the South China Sea for 3 - 7 days. For more information, ask HK's local travel agencies, or drop by the cruise office at Harbour City.
Also visible is Tsim Sha Tsui, including the Hong Kong Cultural Centre & the lankmark Peninsula hotel.

The Convention Center is one of Hong Kong's most important venues for trade fairs, exhibitions and international conventions. Its harbour-facing glass curtain wall is the largest in the world. The extension to the building, with its distinctive winged roof, sits on a man-made island in Victoria Harbour.
This was the site of the handover of Hong Kong to Chinese sovereignty in 1997.

In the last couple of years, a new extension to the convention center was built, and how has become a defining landmark in HK's world renowned city skyline. Its grand architecture & its highly-desirable location allows it be become the ideal showcase venue.
Outside, in front of the convention centre, is Bauhinia Square, where there is a statue called Golden Bauhinia. The statue was created to commenorate Hk's return to China from the UK.
The promenade that surrounds the area provides breathtaking views and endless photo oppurtunities of Victoria harbour.

Chinese New Year is a big day to locals. A nice Chinese New Year represents a good start of the whole year. Because of this belief, many celebrations can be found in Hong Kong during the period (normally the first three days) of Chinese New Year.
For example, Hong Kong Tourist Association organizes a parade starting from Tamer Site in Admiralty through Convention Avenue to Wan Chai on the new year day every year. The parade usually comprises around 40 teams of people from different countries/organizations in their specially designed parade vehicles. It's really interesting to see such a big show on the street in the day time.
More importantly, if you don't need a seat, you can watch the show FREE!!!! The best location is along Convention Avenue. Remember to go there earlier in order to find a better location!

The Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, with its sweeping sails and vast glass windows is a huge attraction for visitors. HKCEC is also an ideal venue for exhibitions and trade shows and is regularly voted 'the best convention and exhibition venue in Asia'.

Located on the Wanchai waterfront, HONG KONG CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION CENTRE looks like a great hawk spreading its wings. Every year, during National Day, visitors congregate here to watch the spectacular Flag Raising Ceremony, the march-past by the Guards of Honour, a flypast and the fireboats' water-jet display.
This place is amazing. Beautiful architect!

The Trade Development Design Center
I am not so sure that this is a strict 'must see activity' but this shop located at the Convention and Exhibition hall on the Wanchai waterfront is a treasure trove of Hong Kong designed products.
The shop is full of all sorts of inovative products from collectables to clocks, antique look alike radios and digital cameras and everything is for sale!!

The Expo Promenade (often defined as Golden Bauhinia Plaza) outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on the waterfront of Wan Chai marks what was without doubt the most significant occasion in Hong Kong's history - the return of the former British Colony to the People's Republic of China (PRC), and the establishment of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.

Crossing over to the modern, the sky's the limit in this dynamic city - with buildings like the 70-storey Bank of China Tower and the 78-storey Central Plaza rising above the stunning cityscape all around, featuring new and impressive additions such as the extension of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
