Disneyland Hong Kong on Lantau island is one of Hong Kongs newest attractions and just about fills a whole day.
Our chosen method of transport, the R21 bus from Nathan Road was on such a clear day, a pleasant 50 minute or so ride through the city and provided good views from the top deck.
On arrival there is a very impressive landscaped and paved approach to the entrance where we purchased our tickets, which on a weekday cost $295HK for adults and $210 for kids. Weekends and special days were a little more at $350HK and $250HK respectively.
Once inside the park is well set out ( get a free map ) with the central area mainly taken over with rides, places to eat and souvenir stalls set out at regular intervals. To our pleasant surprise food and drink, along with the usual Disney knicknacks on sale were very reasonably priced.
Wander a little further and other attractions such as Tarzans tree house and an entertaining boat ride ( where you get to ride rapids and ward off various perils ) keep all the family entertained.
Be sure to catch one of the shows, particularly the Golden Mickeys, where all the popular characters perform in Chinese, with English subtitles on a screen alongside, very professionally done and the day ends with a fireworks display, the kids loved it.

This 2.2 KM bridge is considered as the world's longest road and rail suspension bridge. If you want to get good views of this bridge, you have to go to the Lantau Link View Point.I recommend to go there before sunset or in the evening as it's beautifully illuminated.

To get to the top,you will have to climb up 260 steps. This 23 M giant Buddha is considered as one of the biggest outdoor seated Buddha.Since the builder of this is from China, the Buddha is facing the north, which is unsual to a Buddha, but it's politically correct;);)

This is the "Walk of Fame" in Asia, like in Hollywood, you'll also see plaques and handprints of stars. There's also Bruce Lee statue. It's also the best place to watch A Symphony of Lights in the evening from the Kowloon side.

The Symphony of lights has been named the world's largest permanent sound and light show. The show takes place every night between 8-8.15pm and is best seen from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront between the Avenue of Stars and the Hong Kong Cultural centre. We viewed it from a raised area past the clock tower. 33 buildings on both the Kowloon and the Hong Kong island are decked out in lights, flickering with lasers to music.

Located in front of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Wan Chai waterfront, Golden Bauhinia Square and its two monuments – the Forever Blooming Bauhinia and the Reunification Monument – commemorate the return of Hong Kong to the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. A flag-raising ceremony takes place every morning between 7:50 and 8:03, and the flags are lowered at 6:00 pm daily. The surrounding waterfront is perhaps the best place on Hong Kong Island to watch A Symphony of Lights.

Located in one of the New Territories, Yuen Long, and in the shadows of towering tenements, the Hong Kong Wetlands Park is a 60+ hectare integrated educational/recreational venue designed to protect and raise awareness for wetlands. In addition to several interactive educational activities, the park boasts extensive wetland habitats, outdoor exhibits, boardwalks, and bird hides. The scrub habitat harbors butterflies, dragonflies, and numerous species of birds. The mangroves are home to crabs and mudskippers. And, the marsh and mudflats are home to more birds, including numerous shorebird, heron, and duck species. The park is open every day of the week except Tuesday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The park also is closed on public holidays and the first and second day of the Chinese New Year. Tickets cost HK$30 for adults and HK$15 for children, students, and seniors with free admission for infants (children under 3). To reach the park using public transportation from Central Hong Kong or Kowloon, take the MTR Tseun Wan Line to Mei Foo. Transfer to the KCR West Rail and take it to Tin Shui Wai. From there, transfer to the KCR Light Rail and take either 705 or 706 to Wetlands Park.

The Peak Tram terminates at the Peak Tower, an architecturally interesting building housing overpriced restaurants and souvenir shops but, more importantly, home to a large rooftop viewing platform providing outstanding views of the city below. The views are spectacular day or night, and you should plan to either visit twice – once during the day and once at night – or arrive in the afternoon and stay until after sunset.
