They don't call it Flower Market Road for nothing. This street is lined with nothing but flower shops, and the flowers literally overflow from the small shops out onto the sidewalk. Definitely a very pleasant place for a daytime stroll. At the end of the street you will find the Bird Garden.

It is amazing to see all the people and things that are at these markets in Hong Kong!!! !
The Jade Markets were probably my favourite with lots of little trinkets and wonderful carvings etc. I really loved the little animals carved out of nuts, they are cute! :) The stall attendants will all try to sell you lots of things, but the stuff is mostly fairly cheap and cute. :) We brought lots of stuff back for friends here since they were cheap and small..
The Flower Market and Bird Market were also nice places... I loved the way each street had a different thing for sale.

Western Market is a high end shopping area in a beautifully restored red brick building. This market also contains a large food court. The building was originally built in 1906 as a fresh fruit and vegetable market.
From Western Market you can take the walking bridge over to the waterfront area or you can walk south to the Cat Street antique markets.

If you want to shop in Hong Kong, there is nothing like the market shopping that is scattered throughout the city. There is the Bird Market and the Flower Market where there is an assortment of birds and flowers (self-explanatory name). There is also the Ladies Market where you can find virtually anything from accessories to clothing. There is also the Temple Street Market where you can find jade and antiquities if you dare venture out at night. There is also the Jade Market if you are interested in buying jade. This only touches on some of well-known markets that are scattered throughout Hong Kong. Don't be afraid to bargain, it is expected!! And bargain lower than what you are willing to pay because 9 times out of 10 as you walk away, you will get your deal or something close to it!!! Don't forget to pick up your handy-dandy tourist map at the airport or a tourist office to highlight where to go shopping!

Before I went to Hong Kong, I already made walking thru the streets of HK as part of my itinerary. Despite the aching feet, my walk thru the night markets and streets selling herbal medicine was filled with complete wonder.

Walk through the back streets and gaze amongst the many exquisite buckets of flowers and stalls. Flowers are sold here from all over the world both wholesale and retail at really good prices. This is one of Kong Kong's more popular markets.
open hours: 10am-6pm daily

This is the place to find inexpensive women's clothes. Anything from lingerie to shoes, jeans to accessories. There are also plenty of leather goods, great knock off handbags and wallets. There are also toys, gadgets, cosmetics and hair accessories as well as Men’s and children’s clothing. A little tough to try on things so be prepared to try over whatever you are wearing.
The Ladies Market is open from noon to 10:30 p.m.

markets in hong kong come in all shapes and sizes. the wet markets are particulary interesting. see gresson street wanchai for a taste of wet market atmosphere or graham street central. there are some great bizzares in central too near the old man mo temple. the temple strret market in kowllon offers a wide variety of things on offer. if its bargains you are after then try your luck over the border in shen zhen.

Temple Street Market is a bustling night-time street market, selling everything from watches to fabric.
We went mid-week, which was nice as it was slightly quieter.
One piece of advice given to us by the bus-driver - beware of pickpockets.

Tung Choi Street is more widely known as Ladies' Street. It used to sell only women's things but nowadays, it has been adapted so even kids and men can find interesting deals here.
This is a very famous street where we can get cheap things. Usually, this is where you would find fake things such as Louis Vuitton handbags or Breitling fake watches.
Even if you don't want to buy fake things, I think it's still interesting to go have a look. You would see what a chinese open-air market looks like.
Advice : make sure you bargain because it's usually over-priced.
