Repulse Bay. The name is...
Repulse Bay. The name is awful! The name, however, is derived from a battleship HMS Repulse which in the early days helped drive the pirates away from this area. Nowadays Repulse Bay has turned into a commercialized place. Here is where you can escape from Hong Kong's bustling sidewalks and relax at this beach side area.

The other (South) side of HK Island. First you take the bus to Aberdeen where you can take a 'sampan' cruise around the harbour and absorb the contrast of boat families with high rises as back drop.
Continue along the coast by bus to beaches Repulse Bay. It will seem like a holiday away from the bustle of HK.

Sunbathe and chill out at Repulse Bay Beach. Who knows? You might just bump into some gorgeous movie star here. Just make sure that you email me the good news when that happens. Good luck to you.

Visit Repulse Bay.... even if it is just to gawk and be envious of the FILTHY rich living here. Champagne wishes and caviar dreams. You bet!
A friend of mine lives here... and from her apartment window, I enjoyed a picture-perfect view of Ocean Park (in the distance) and the vast South China Sea! It's nothing short of spectacular, I must admit.
You can get here by number 6 bus from Exchange Square Bus Station, Central. There is a lovely clean beach and at the far end of the beach you can visit the Lifesaver's Temple.
