I've never really been a fan of space museums but a particularly wet day in Hong Kong with the kids forced us to look for indoor attractions. I must have walked past the egg shaped building a hundred times over the years with barely a curious glance but we bought our tickets, joined the queue, went in and enjoyed a couple of entertaining and educational hours inside. the exhibits are well laid out and the kids enjoyed the hands on attractions.
The domed building houses the digital planetarium projector which was worth the extra charge and has multi language head phones for commentary so all are able to benefit from the experience.
The main exhibition halls cost $10 HKD adults and $5 HKD concessions. The sky show is from $24 - $32 HKD adults and half price concessions.

At south of Hong Kong Kowloon, very easy to find is the Hong Kong Space Museum.
Very nice all and interesting - but at sunday a little full-
so for to avoid waiting, is recommended better to go in the week.
Here at photo inside the Museum a announcement about the Chinese Manned Spacecraft program (we was 2002 there) very interesting to see this time short before the first takeoff same year.
And this is special in Hong Kong and so easy for a traveller- the informations were mostly both in chinese and english language.
At second Photo the Space Museum outside - all together a architectonic interest view. By the way, it is easy to find in "goggle earth" map!

This museum is at the seaside of Tsim Sha Tsui. It is an 8,000 square meter-egg-shaped dome which is worth a visit. Its facilities provide a lot of information about our galaxy and beyond. My 8-year old niece enjoyed the tour a lot! Explanations are provided in English and in two dialects of Hong Kong. Please visit the museum's homepage for informations.

There are many interactive games inside this museum . You can try moon-walking , steering a spacecraft , etc . It might not be the most sophisticated museum but it's worth a look . Moreover , it has a very low entrance fee .

Address: Along the waterfront promenade in Tsimshatsui .
On the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, the egg-shaped dome of the SPACE MUSEUM has long been an eye-catching landmark on the Kowloon Peninsula. It gives visitors insights into astronomy and space technology. The museum houses one of the world's largest planetariums, the Space Theatre, which features thrilling OMNIMAX and sky shows on science and nature themes. The museum also has two exhibition halls - the Hall of Space Science and the Hall of Astronomy
