A short boat trip across the bay for unforgettable views of the Hong Kong skyline. Ride on the top deck (slightly more expensive) for the best view. No need to worry about schedules loads of crossings throughout the day.

This is the best deal in town , if you're looking for a great view of the city. The ferry across from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon is only 2.20 HK ( takes 10 minutes) . That's for first class which gets you the upper deck. There are lots of ferries running everyday...so the waits not long!
They operate from 6:30 Am to 11PM between Central and Tsimshatsui

Situated in front of the Cultural Center is Star Ferry in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The Star Ferry, one of the must-do's in Hong Kong, has been running for about a century.
It is a 5-minute ride across the Victoria Harbor for just HK$2.20.
There's one just about every 5 minutes, operating from early in the morning till midnight or so.
You have great views on the skyline of Hong Kong. It is so nice, I recommend to take it both day and night.

Star Ferry is a passenger ferry service operator in Hong Kong, China. Its principal routes carry passengers across the Victoria Harbour, between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
From the ferry, one can take in the famous view of the harbour and the Hong Kong skyline.
It's quite an experience to take the ferry across the harbour. Do go for it.

There is no better time to see the stunning Hong Kong skyline that with a Star Ferry trip after dark. For just $2.20HKD, the view and experience can't be beat. We had gone in the daytime, but taking the night ferry is a whole different experience and was the highlight of the trip.
You can try and take pictures, but (of course) it won't do it justice!

The Star ferry has 4 routes: Between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Wanchai, Central and Hung Hom and Hung Hom and Wanchai. They have been in use since 1888. Make sure you take at least one trip on the Star Ferry at night as well. On our first night, we were on the Star Ferry while the Symphony of lights show was on! Definitely the way to see Hong Kong over using the MTR!

That is a very nice way to enter Hongkong from the Gate Hall, HK harbour, when traveling by boat. It is via a pathway or foot bridge that is roofed over. You walk all along to the shoppings areas of Hongkong, saved from the burning sun and its heat. Don't worry you'll loose your way, there are some signs, and the first huge mall is the IFC-mall.

The famous Star Ferry (actually Ferries, there are a few of them) is a practical and cheap way to travel between Hong Kong island and Kowloon. I'd recommend any visitor takes the ferry at least once. The sights are spectacular, especially at night.
There are two routes:
Tsim Sha Tsui to Central
Tsim Sha Tsui to Wan Chai
Both take less than 10 minutes, run every frequently and will cost a couple of HK$.

Before there were cross-channel tunnels and MRT trains, the only way to get across Victoria Harbof from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island is by ferry. Now there is still the regular commuter and "tourist" Star Ferry.
Whether during the day or night, this ferry ride is a must to get a feel of the old Hong Kong, a seaport. The fare is cheap and service is reliable and safe except during typhoons.
Can you really have been to Hong Kong without taking the Star Ferry at least once.

Hong Kong is seems as a big stars factory. Movie stars, teleplay stars, singing stars.... How many stars there are made in Hong Kong? Everyone know there is star way in Hollywood. So is Hong Kong. Even not inferior than Hollywood's. I really admire Hong Kong where is just a small byland but come out thousands of stars. Hong Kong really is a dreaming city.
