Tin Shui Wai Restaurants

Though I hate foodcourts in general, I will break with tradition and rave about the foodcourt in the Wetland Park. Perhaps standing in the blasted heat for hours observing birds and butterflies will make you slightly insane and rave about just about any air-conditioned room in general but..

Can you imagine dining in an air-conditioned hall that overlooks a water body over sheer verdent greenery? And as you dine in the cool ambience, an egret flies over the water and lands with graceful precision.

Yes, I can, I was there, by a window seat. Making notes in my bird journal and recuperating from the blasted summer heat. I must have been sitting there for hours since the cleaner approach my table at least thrice to try and take away my empty cup.

Favorite Dish: Everything tastes good after 3-4 hours in the blinding heat and sun. Look out for their fabulous tea shakes ( bubble milk tea with sago pearls), various fruit desserts and club sandwiches which comes with an enormous serving of chips. The Chinese is rather starchy but platable.

Water is served free over here by the water cooler.

Avoid:The fruit salad. It's nothing more than a scoop of fruit cocktail with industrail mayo.
