The HK Macau ferries charge for oversize luggage.
If you can stick it in a box then they should treat it as such and you pay an additional fee on top of your ticket.
There is a good bike shop:-

which should be able to help with the box and may even be able to help with transport.
Enjoy your bike riding.

If you want to give your feet so rest from walking then you can rent a bike for the day especially when it comes to touring the islands or New Territories.
You can rent bikes from:
Cheung Chau Island
Mui Wo (Silvermine Bay) on Lantau Island
Shek O on HK island
Sha Tin and Tai Mei Tuk in the New Territories.

Being married to an engineer this was bound to be on our travel itinery!!!! The Travelator is a series of linked moving walkways and elevated escalators.
In 2001 it was approximately 800m long and held the title of the longest escalator in the world.
Designed to relieve traffic in busy Hong Kong at rush hours, the travelator links the leafy suburbs of the lower Peak with the Commercial Centre below (to walk this journey would be more vertical than horizontal!!!!!!!)
In the evening the escalators and walkway direction changes to pull people up the hill, and in the morning rush hour it transports people down the hill!
What a brilliant idea!
We spent a happy hour or two riding up the escalators, and then walked back down, just after lunchtime. This was a great time to do it as we managed to catch lots of street markets!!!!!!
