I loved just walking around the town at night, foreigners are rare so you would always get into conversation on the streets but as far as I know (and I’m happy to be corrected) this is a dry area, an alcohol free zone, so don’t expect clubs and bars.
There are a few restaurants, including a passable Chinese place, but most didn’t appear to serve alcohol. However, I spent most of my time with people from the Muslim community and consuming alcohol wasn’t an issue. When the guys from the college took me out we went to an ice cream parlour. I went to Mumbai for my ‘R&R’.
