Do not under any circumstances engage Taxis of the drivers who approach you within a station or airport, as more often than not these are real crooks, and will have several tricks to con you. Politely refuse and walk -up outside any station or airport where you will find Taxis queing -up for passengers. Well not that all of them will be saints but in all probability they will be the regular guys, who may at the most may con you of a few tens of rupees. Remember that all Taxis or Rikshaws in Mumbai are metered, and the drivers are legally bound to show you a conversion chart called the Tarriff Card. This card will have figures in black that you must check with the meter reading and pay what is in red that corresponds to it.
