halt for a minute to appreciate the land of parshuram who reclaimed it from the sea according to ancient legend.
on a clear day especially afternoons when valley is not covered in mist you can see the meandering vashishthi river the railway line of the konkan railway and if ur lucky a train horn blast with the train chugging comes into full view out of a tunnel.
the spot is mared by unauthorised spots selling all kind of fodd items and what not otherwise its a peaceful place a must stop for a few minutes especially to watch beautiful sunsets

as you climb one steep curve the road suddenly broadens with a dirt track space for parking vehicles.the soil of konkan the volcanic red laterite geru can best be seen here and on the shoulders of the road.see the pic.
here u can get a beautiful view of the meandering vashishthi river and the chiplun town and valley with the konkan rail tracks passing below.see pics.if you are lucky u may spot the trains chugging along.
there are a few shacks offering assortment of beverages.itr its noontime its definitely a cooler like a softdrink or traditional coolers like tak(buttermilk) lassi(sweetened or salted buttermilk)
or limbupani(freshlime juice).
iwould recommend the last three especially for foreign tourists.
take in the fresh breeze and get ready for the gruelling onward journey.
