    live entertainment

daily as the dusk descends on the palm fringed beaches of goa the night life comes alive.

hundreds of entertainers hit the nightspots to entertain the tourists who have flocked to goa!!!

the entertainers are a varied lot from singers musicians magicians solo acts group acts carnival groups.

ballad singers abound as night entertainment in many hot spots of goa.

some have professional djs doing the stuff like trance psychedellic usually to the accompaniment of a dancefloor where u can let ur hair down.

the whole atmosphere is ethereal and in the company of ur friends and loved ones request songs are belted out with amazing ease and skill.

this live entertainment continues till the better part of midnight and in some places till wee hours of morning.

seen in the pic is andre a typical performer at morisco.

fllodlit rampart of fort aguada opposite calangute

the taj fort aguada has a very peculiar landmark. it its semicircular bastion jutting out into the sea.

recently the hotel has floodlit the beach to enhance the beauty of the surroundings as well as provide illumination to swimmers who venture late for a dip.

this lights up the beach at the starting point of calangute and at night it looks absolutely amazing.

lucky are the people who stay at fort aguada and watch the night time sea from the comfort of their sea facing rooms enjoying a sip of their favorite drink and time just seems to pass so slowly.

i would definitely not recommend swimmers to enter sea after dark. i would rather recommend a stroll around the ramparts and there are a few good restaurants along the calangute baga stretch at which you can unwind later on.

Fire jugglers: Party on the Beach

    Fire juggling

All over Christmas, the beach was one big party!

Fire jugglers, fireworks and bonfires lined the seashore. Choose the bar which is laying on antertainment at that particular time.

I was surprised that the bars were not more crowded with some many tourists - Indian and foreigners - we never had any problems getting a table for drinking or eating anywhere during the holidays.

    The beach: Anjuna at night

If you're lucky enough, go to Anjuna Beach at night and you might find an all night party along the beach...

The expats living there will tell you what's happening. Also the open market on Wednesday is a good occasion to get to know what will happen at night.

    Watercolor of the blue waves

In Palolem Beach, south of Goa, you can see a marvellous phenomenon at night. If you stare at the waves in the beach, you can see that they shine in blue-greenish colors. This is due to some microscopic tiny organism which have fluorescence and make the waters shine.
If you swimm at night there you will see your body all covered with tiny points of light. An unforgettable mystic experience!!!
