All Spice is a place I kept hearing about, I passed it many times and when I did eat there I was not dissapointed it is really as good as all the hype. I would strongly suggest booking a table. It gets packed but this does not effect the service.
Favorite Dish: Chicken xacuti is a local goan dish its superb and treat yourself to a naan aswell.
Not very often mentioned but this little shack near the Calangute steps is possibly the best shack on the North Goan beach. The food is sumptious and the service is wonderful, Kamil will not let you even pour your own beer or move your table. When we return every year all the lads come out to welcome us as does Mama who hovers around doing massages and cheap jewellry. You can spend a whole day there being pampered, fed, looked after for under a tenner.
Favorite Dish: All the food is delicious, try the vegetarian ones or fish dishes.
First night Delhi Belly The food here was not clean or prepared right, spoiled three days for us,
maybe we were first customers of the night?
Not particularly friendly service that you expect in Goa.
Favorite Dish: None
This charming restaurant is hosted by Priya & Manoj, and is a pretty main area, and a relaxing outside garden room. Food is pure Indian, and is of a high quality.
Favorite Dish: I think all the starters are brilliant. They are kinda 'street food', but done professionally.
The Beach House is an excellent restaurant at the Taj Holiday Village Resort with a relaxing atmosphere, very nice decoration and with candles lit during dinner.
Guests can choose from either an extravagant multi-cuisine buffet or delicious a la carte. ‘Chef Rego’s’ authentic Goan dishes include Prawn curry, prawn balchao and the Hindu saraswat thali.
It's a bit more expensive than other restaurants in Goa but the food is amazing and the fresh fish and seafood are the best in Goa.
12:30 pm — 3:00 pm
7:00 pm — 11:00 pm
Favorite Dish: Prawn balchao, prawn curry and the delicious " bebinca" with icecream for dessert I used to eat every time I went there...!
On the beach on Bogmallo Bay, you can wander in off the beach for a beer, cocktail , snack or a meal fit for a king.
Favorite Dish: Butter chicken was my husbands favourite although we worked our way through the menu and did not have anything we didn't thoroughly enjoy!! My personal favourite has to be the Tandoori Chicken - a full half chicken for just 90Rps!!!!
Live music and a huge assortment of Indian and continental dishes, including soups and salads, chicken/seafood/beef dishes and assorted desserts. Reservations are essential. Choice of seating outdoors (if it's not too hot) or inside where the music is. Great place to relax with friends for a couple of hours.
Lots of choices on the menu. The best place for Thalis and Solkadhi! Nice, clean, restaurant atmosphere with good service. Patronized mostly by locals. Open lunch/dinnertime.
Favorite Dish: Veg Thali and Solkadhi. Delicious!!
Bob's Inn serves all types of cuisines, but their Goan specialities are particularly mouth watering. The interior is done up in a very tasteful manner, which cretes a very soothing ambience. We had stopped over at Bob's Inn on our way to Old Goa, and the lunch was a very refreshing experience.
The restaurant is set in a 120 year old house, with a garden at the entrance. The owner is also a very friendly chap.
Favorite Dish: The Chicken Cafreal is just out of this world. This is a Goan dish made in Mint-Coriander gravy. It's not very spicy, but is really tasty. I haven't eaten this good Chicken Cafreal anywhere else.
LOCATED LOOKING OVER THE MAIN STREET IN CALANGUTE CENTER JUST UP FROM THE JUNCTION OF THE MAIN BAGA ROAD.
THE SETTING IS SMALL AND VERY WELCOMING AND IS OPEN AIR SO YOU CAN WATCH THE HUSSLE AND BUSSLE OF CALANGUTE AT NIGHT.
THE FOOD IS SO CHEAP AND FRESH MY WIFE AND I ON A RECENT TRIP IN DEC O6 ATE HERE 3 TIMES.
IF YOU WANT GOOD CHEAP FOOD THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!!!.
A MEAL AND DRINKS FOR TWO PEOPLE WAS USUALLY UNDER 500 RUPPEES THAT IS CHEAP!!! AND LOADS OF FOOD ALSO.
Favorite Dish: THE BUTTER CHICKEN IS TO DIE FOR SERVED WITH BUTTER JEERA RICE AND A GARLIC NANN (THE BEST I HAVE HAD IN GOA)
The plantian leaf is another superb local stop for food.
Not an ideal place for a 'special night out' but ideal for a quick cheap yummy meal. Its where most of the locals go for a bite and the settings are nothing special but the food is superb. Its all local currys, very very reasonable prices, I think we paid about £4 for 3 currys a couple of nan breads and drinks for me and the miss's.
Favorite Dish: Phew, too many to mention, as the waiter and he wil point you in the right direction.
What can we say... the best meal we have ever had!!
Seriously... we heard lots of good reviews before we went to All spice and had high expectations.. and boy were they met!
Its quite a simple quaint place and the setting isnt spectacular but the food and service do all the talking.
Ask for Vinny or Girish.. well you cant miss them, they will make you feel so welcome the moment you arrive and are just soooo cool, they can make any orders you want if its not on the menu too!
If you do anything in Goa... go to All spice!
Favorite Dish: We had a prawn Massala... oh boy was it nice....and keema pannear!!! MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
If you go to Goa you will soon realise that it is a place that values GOOD FOOD. This is most evident in East Meets West. I am so certain that most foodies out there will be more that just impressed with this jewel of culinary delights!! Set in a shady garden, we dined al fresco under the stars by candlelight (and the christmas lights that all of goa seem to love!). East Meets West offers more than just Indian cuisine, which by have the best butter chicken curry i have tastes in the WORLD (so far). There is an open air barbeque that produces the most gorgeous grilled fish and prawns (fresh on the day), and their kitchen offer delightful sounding steaks and finger-licking good starters. If I have to think of one draw back it would be the incence overload!! But if you get a table in the centre of the garden, rather than by the trees around the perimeter you will be fine...i promise you will love this place!! Although its more expensive than the average eaterie in Goa, it is worth every penny!! They also provide frequent live music which will make you smile if it doesnt succeed in serenading you! Every taxi driver knows this place so just ask them to drop you here and collect you in a few hours.
Favorite Dish: Anything from the barbeque!!!
Butter chicken curry!!
Naan bread...yum yum!!
On the beach Candolim
Excellent friendly place with good food
Have a look for renting bikes as well
Friendly small restaurant just at the end of the way coming from the beach.
Have a chat with the waiter !
The restaraunt is called Electric Cats. It does great Vindaloo and Xacuti curries, lovely Garlic Nan, fresh Sea food and the nicest shakes we had in Goa. They have a reasonable menu but the best thing about his place is that you can order food that they can make but that doesnt appear on the menu. I ended up with some huge prawns fried with Garlic and Chile served on a bed of Pappodom - not on the menu but a winner. They also made (little home-sick me) some Egg mayonaise - even tho they had no idea what it was, when we went back a week or so later it was on the menu!
Favorite Dish: Xacuti Chicken/Prawn curry with Garlic nan and rice. 95 Rupees for the lot, it takes a while, but what doesnt in India(!), order a cold one, walk down to the beach and they'll come give you a shout.
