Huge, bright, overly priced, cafeteria style, overstaffed, too much choice to be fresh eating place.
So not Goa.
They say they take plastic, don't believe it - they can't even use the machine properly, and that was 9 of them!!!

This is an excellent quality restaurant on the CSM road in Baga.
Tuesday nights are a special night as they have local Goan dancing on. Pre-book tuesday evening. The rest of the week should be ok just to turn up.
Favorite Dish: The freshly caught, freshly cooked garlic lobster is so succulent and tasty. Order it the day before, so they can get it fresh from the market on the day you want it. The price is by weight, so expect to pay anywhere between 700 - 1000 rupees. This is an expensive dish, but it is worth it. You get all the trimmings, salad, vegtetables, chips and even mashed potatoes. I go to Goa on my birthday, and a meal at the Indian Impact, is my holiday treat.
They also do fantastic Tandori dishes, and it is a 'safe' place to get Pork in India, if you are wanting some.
My daughter does not eat meat, and she says there is a good vegetarian choice.

Described as a 'family restaurant'. which seems to mean every style of food, Indian, Continental, Chinese, served in bright A/C surroundings. If you like a typical english indian this is the place to go. Extensive menu, try their different tikkas, dal makhani, rogan josh. Service good though a few too many waiters for me. Sit outside under the fans if you want to be quiet.
Favorite Dish: Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, Dal, Veg Wontons.

Excellent food in this typical South Indian restaurant. Masala dosas, idlis and vadas served with sambal, and coconut chutney, dosas served up until 11am then time to try one of their delicious thalis, lots of different veg curries with rice, papad, curd. Always seems to be change from 50 rs.
Favorite Dish: Masala Dosa, Potato Vadas

Pleasant surrounding with a small garden area and fancy coloured lights that can mesmerise you.
The more senior of the waiters is so precise in serving. He even takes time to make sure your knife and fork are placed in exactly the right position. Just watch him and you'll know what I mean.
Favorite Dish: Plain steak with egg. Just makes a pleasant change from having spicy food every day.

The first restaurant I visited in Goa and one I keep returning to.
For an experience you can sit by the tree that grows through the centre of the front eating area and watch the world go by or for a quieter meal use the upstairs dining area.
Favorite Dish: Chicken lollipops, a chicken drumstick dippped in a spicy batter. Anything with fried rice and a naan.

In my opinion this is one of the best restaurants in Goa and I think many will agree. It can be found in south Goa in a tiny hamlet called Betalbatim which happened to be where my partner and I stayed for a week.
The food here is excellent and the best courses are of course the fish curries. We were warned about the strength of the chilly but found it fine. We came here many times and the staff became familier with us. They serve alcohol including local wine (Yuk). When we were here the clientelle mostly consisted of middle/upper class indian families.
Favorite Dish: Fish Curry, don't bother with the meat dishes. If you don't like things too hot then say something or else you won't be able to eat it.

Address: It's on a roundabout in Betalbatim.
Right on the beach with sun beds and tables with umbrellas on the sand. The staff are not the usual pushy sales people you get further north and will sit and chat to you if they have the time.
I ordered a Bacardi Breezer and couldn't understand why it took so long to arrive - they didn't have any and had to go to the local shop to replace their supplies.
Favorite Dish: Pork Vindaloo.
I enquired about a dessert dish on the menu which I had never heard of before, and the next day I was given one 'compliments of the house'.

I stayed here on both my visits to Goa and the bonus of a good restaurant next to my room was all i could have wished for. Steve the owner is a really nice guy who will help solve any problems you may have, his staff are mainly Nepalese so you guessed it , really helpfull and always smiling. The food is not as cheap as some places but the quality makes up for that. The menu is very varied with plenty of Fish, meat and veggie dishes and there is also an on site bakery which makes the most delicious chocolate cake . Rooms can be rented prices depending on budget to what you want , all are clean and comfortable and the staff really look out for you , i stayed alone for a few months and they made sure i felt safe and comfortable, i would recommend women staying here also as Steve is a no nonsense kind of fella who will keep an eye out for you.One downside is that Steve runs a lot of trance parties so if that is not your scene i suggest staying elsewhere (1 lasted 5 days)
Favorite Dish: My favourite dishes were Beef chillie fry and chicken tikka on naan bread was yummy at about 70 rupees, I would recommend the fish as well , many Goans come here for them so they must be up to scratch.

This place is really busy with backpackers, food is excellent quality and value for money, it also has the advantage of serving Goan dishes which is one reason to visit as many in this area cater for western tastes. The service is good plenty of seating and they show all the latest movies at 8 pm each night which is cool if you just want to eat, chill out and have a drink
Favorite Dish: Too many dishes get my thumbs up here, the Goan dishes are quality as are the sizzlers.
