    by Sandrine78 Written Nov 25, 2005

In Calangute, nearby the market. Very good vegetarian food, To find it look up it is on the 1st floor.

Favorite Dish: If you fancy various dishes, but don't really know what to order go for a Special Thali, it has a variety of currys with plain rice and pilau rice also has some sweet and salad. The papadum and puri were to die for!

INDIAN: Punjabi cuisine at it's best

by Durfun Written Dec 24, 2005

Sher-E-Punjab (NorthIndian cuisine) is a restuarant with mouth-watering dishes & recipes.

The decor, ambience is superb & the service is awesome!

A real treat, you will be treated like royalty here!!

Favorite Dish: Vegetarian Tawa > it looks great, and tastes like something 'out of this world'.

To keep it special, you had never had it b4, & will never have it again!

Yes, it's not a local (Konkani) dish, but it came highly recommended & so I went here.

KEBAB KURRY: Authentic Kebabs and Biryani at Palolem

    by venkyboy127 Updated Nov 21, 2010
    1 more image

i visited palolem this year and as normally it would be, there were a bunch of new restaurants open. This eatery(a small one) is located on "teen rasta" (three road junction) one way to Intercontinental one to Patnem and the other to Chaudi mkt. It has just been opened and does not have much to do with the ambience, but the surroundings is spectacular. A view of the mountains and open fields and the railway station. But when it comes down to the food part of it.... its really mouthwatering...and tastes home made. Basically for meat lovers, it specializes in Kebabs and Biryani during the evenings and serves chicken curry and fish curry for lunch.

Favorite Dish: The tandoori leg was perfect with spices and soft. Kebabs were Chic marinated in milk, chicken marinated with mint and chicken marinated in chilli. Biryani was good, but a bit spicy. you could ask them to add less masala to the rice. its DUM biryani, hence already cooked.

  • Over the Flames: The worst food ever

by vidnaidu Updated Feb 3, 2011

Over the Flames on Candolim Road, Goa, is the worst place ever. We went there for lunch and found the place absolutely deserted. We were wondering if we did a mistake rite then, but thot we'll give it a chance. The seating is sooo damn uncomfortable with broken chairs and the cushions with coir poking at ur bum. Service is pathetic. They took nearly an hour to serve just a chicken and prawn starter. We wanted to have Chinese, so the waiter said that he would make it though they dint have it on the menu. So, we ordered 2 starters and 3 drinks. After the long wait, the food came and it was horrible. The chicken was hard and rubbery and for the first time in Goa I ate the worst ever prawns which was over cooked and hard. We dint like the food or the drink, so we decided to stop at tat and asked for the bill. Guess wat the bill cud have been ?? It came up to 2000 Rs for just 2 starters and 3 drinks. Each starter cost us 500 Rs. The other restaurants in Goa serve prawns at 100 to 200 rs max. We were totally pissed off with their service and on top of tat the final bill. My sincere advice is to pls pls pls not visit this place ever. You hav much better options than this one.

  • Rasa Restaurant & Bar: Don't miss the excellent Indian food

by yashmay Written Apr 7, 2011

Friendly service, relaxing atmosphere, soothing background score and finger-licious dishes that you can crave for. Hygienically best, you can see the chef's with hat in clean uniform cooking for you through open kitchen window. Book your tables as most of the nights is busy.

Favorite Dish: To name few from the full list; I like Chicken/Mutton hara masala, Stuffed capscicum, Butter Chicken and crispy crab for starter. Food is prepared to perfection and at reasonable rate.

The Plantain Leaf: Taste the Fruit Salad with Ice Cream

by dkphabiyani Written Dec 26, 2013

The ambience of this restaurant was very nice and it is located on first floor. The quality of food was good and staff were very cooperative. No waiting time as they have enough space and staff to serve you better. You can get all Indian Taste like Punjabi, South Indian, Gujarati etc. I liked food but the dessert was amazing as we ordered Fresh Fruit Salad with Ice Cream. You must try it once for taste

Favorite Dish: Hydrabadi Pulao and Fruit Salad with Ice Cream. Generally, all Indian restaurants serve fruit salad in bowl or glass with Ice Cream but their way of presentation was totally different and no compromise in quality/quantity which I liked.

    The Green Jacket: Great Steaks

by BigAM Updated Oct 11, 2004

Pleasant surrounding with a small garden area and fancy coloured lights that can mesmerise you.
The more senior of the waiters is so precise in serving. He even takes time to make sure your knife and fork are placed in exactly the right position. Just watch him and you'll know what I mean.

Favorite Dish: Plain steak with egg. Just makes a pleasant change from having spicy food every day.

  • The Midas Touch: All that glitters is not gold

by aliblue Updated Dec 29, 2004

Huge, bright, overly priced, cafeteria style, overstaffed, too much choice to be fresh eating place.

    So not Goa.

They say they take plastic, don't believe it - they can't even use the machine properly, and that was 9 of them!!!

    Favorite Dish: None

INDIAN, Dunes Beach: Dunes Beach all day long

by dircelo Updated May 11, 2005
    dunes beach breakfast

Typical delicious indian food for breakfast, lunch or dinner, available just above the beach behind the little luguna. Also beach huts, shacks available. If you have food and beverages the enclosed sunbeds on the beach are free of charge. I should have kept the secret.
The athmosphere is in particular fine in the morning because there is always a little breeze from the sea, it is quiet, but still enough life, the people in the surrounding shacks liklely still rest...service was fast too.

Favorite Dish: The vegetarian mushrooms and pea curry, the omelettes, juices.

    Delhi Durbar: Great Indian food

by catkin Written May 15, 2005
    In the Delhi Durbar

North Indian food served in a great restaurant and at a great price (it was only the wine that was expensive). There was a good choice of dishes for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike.

Favorite Dish: We only went here once and the dish I chose chicken mughlai was lovely and not too spicy-in fact it was just right!

Jaws: A cool place to eat and drink

by feelthevibe Written May 18, 2004

This place is really busy with backpackers, food is excellent quality and value for money, it also has the advantage of serving Goan dishes which is one reason to visit as many in this area cater for western tastes. The service is good plenty of seating and they show all the latest movies at 8 pm each night which is cool if you just want to eat, chill out and have a drink

Favorite Dish: Too many dishes get my thumbs up here, the Goan dishes are quality as are the sizzlers.

Hilltop Motel: They got a new Tandoor

by feelthevibe Written May 18, 2004

I stayed here on both my visits to Goa and the bonus of a good restaurant next to my room was all i could have wished for. Steve the owner is a really nice guy who will help solve any problems you may have, his staff are mainly Nepalese so you guessed it , really helpfull and always smiling. The food is not as cheap as some places but the quality makes up for that. The menu is very varied with plenty of Fish, meat and veggie dishes and there is also an on site bakery which makes the most delicious chocolate cake . Rooms can be rented prices depending on budget to what you want , all are clean and comfortable and the staff really look out for you , i stayed alone for a few months and they made sure i felt safe and comfortable, i would recommend women staying here also as Steve is a no nonsense kind of fella who will keep an eye out for you.One downside is that Steve runs a lot of trance parties so if that is not your scene i suggest staying elsewhere (1 lasted 5 days)

Favorite Dish: My favourite dishes were Beef chillie fry and chicken tikka on naan bread was yummy at about 70 rupees, I would recommend the fish as well , many Goans come here for them so they must be up to scratch.

Restaurant Inferno is one of the best tandori restaurants in Candolim. The location on the Beach Road is good. The prices are a bit higher than usual.
