    Fiesta: Have a Fiesta!

by dhod Written Apr 24, 2004

Many of the restaurants in Baga are good, and much of the time we just enjoyed the experience of sitting at a candle-lit table on the beach, but few restaurants actually provide the ambience and intimacy of 2 restaurants that we enjoyed:- Casa Portuguesa and Fiesta.
Both were excellent and deserved a second visit, whilst these restaurants are at the top end of the price scale, they were still incredibly cheap- fillet steak for approx ?3 sterling!

Favorite Dish: Fiesta has an international/mediterranean menu, you can just have a pizza or something more mouth-watering and the sweets are to die for! You sit outside within a candle-lit garden, it is very popular so make sure you book.
Casa Portuguesa is a Portugese restaurant with a very interesting menu, and things that you won't often find in Goa- wild boar for example. This restaurant is set within an old Portugese style villa with white-washed walls, the owner is a real character and very welcomming.

    Goan Food: Hot and Spicy

by adite Written Jul 18, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Goan food is hot and spicy. It has a lot of coconut and garlic. The Pork Vindaloo, Chicken Xacutti, Prawn Balchao and Fish curries (one with the green curry and the other with the red curry) are extremely delicious. But a word of caution: pork products are not processed hygienically and it might be best to avoid them. Try the Mackerel Fish - it's simply delicious!

Feni - Goa's favourite alcoholic beverage

by adite Written Jul 18, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Feni is Goa's favourite alcoholic beverage. Brewed from cashewnuts, it is strong and it's nothing like what you have tasted before. Try it only if you're willing to bear the consequences and the strong smell!! Goes very well with Pork Vindaloo!

    Fiesta: Italian Mediterranean Fusion Cuisine

by wrldtravler Updated Jan 4, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Choose from Italian starters Buffalo Mozzarella and Feta cheese with tomato Bruschetta, the Anchovys marinated in olive oil and Basil with garlic Crostini, the Carpaccio - thin slices of beef fillet in traditional dressing and garnished with parmesan shavings or the Greek Smoked aubergine mix and Pita bread.
Greek Moussaka - a combination of aubergines or mince-meat. Beef eaters can feast on Steak with Portuguese and French styles to choose from. But continuing to hold their place of pride are Fiesta's eternal favourites, the wood-fired-oven pizzas Pizza Con Tonno E Olive - a no-cheese pizza, Pizza Capres, the 10-inch Pizza Margharita with a choice of toppings and Calzone - a pizza envelope made with your favoured stuffing.

Favorite Dish: There is a fairly decent selection of wine's on the menu to accompany your meal.

    Restaurant Hungry Horse: Hungry Horse

by georeiser Written Jun 9, 2010

Restaurant Hungry Horse is a cheaper place to eat for foreigners than the more expensive neighbour hotels. This place is in Calangute, but not centrally situated.

Favorite Dish: The breakfast is good.
