    Free soul cafe: Friendly staff

    by 123alan Written Mar 9, 2013 3 reviews

I went to the free soul cafe twice while I was in goa,
The second time I went there I had a bit of a cold and was a little hung over from the night before, i was sneezing and coughing and the manager came up said I hear you have bit of cold, would you like some tea it will help you fell a little better,
He came over with the tea, which was very nice, and sat down at the table and we had a nice chat, he was even nice enough to give me the Recipe,
It's only about 10 Minutes From the beach.
If you what a nice place to go for a drink and to chill out this is the place

Angels Resort: One of My Favorite Places...

Kasha enjoying fried fish at Angel

UPDATED 2/12: Went back and ordered the egg curry, something I'd ordered dozens of times in the past. Apparently, they have a new chef who had a really heavy hand with the spices. Would still give it another try in the future.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Goa. Located in Angels Resort which is between Panaji and Candolim, the open air restaurant is a great casual place for dinner.

They serve delicious Goan dishes as well as other cuisines. We lived nearby for two years and ordered from here many, many times. My favorite dishes were the chicken korma and egg curry. The restaurant is inexpensive. I highly recommend trying the restaurant.

It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a bar. Staff is very friendly.

Britto's: Best Casual All Day Dining on the Beach

    by Donna_in_India Updated Mar 2, 2012 841 reviews

    Baga Beach

Update: Recently visited Britto's and I'm sad to say it was not up to its usual standards. The food was cold and the usually good desserts were mediocre. They have also covered the whole top of the restaurant which makes it very dark inside and takes away from the "beachy" atmosphere. I'd like to chalk the bad food up to a bad day in the kitchen so would still give it a try when in Baga.

Britto's is a casual restaurant located right on the beach at Baga. It's definitely one of my favorite places in Goa. It is a large place - not quite like a typical shack. They serve Goan, Continental, Indian, and Chinese dishes. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The Goan curry and vindaloo dishes are very good but my favorites are the continental chicken dishes. There are very good desserts - chocolate mousse, pies, etc. so be sure to save some room!

Britto's is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I love going there for breakfast. It's wonderfully relaxing to feel the sand between your toes while watching the action on the beach. You are literally steps from the beach.

Service is very good and the staff are really friendly.

I'd still give Britto's is a try while in Goa!

Mango Tree: Love Going Here For Breakfast

    by Donna_in_India Written Feb 27, 2012 841 reviews

    Fries at the Mango Tree

The Mango Tree is designed to look like a beach shack. It serves decent food and has always been one of our "breakfast" restaurants. It's located on the main Candolim-Calangute Road, which makes it a great spot for people-watching. I'd definitely recommend stopping in for a breakfast or afternoon snack. Gets pretty busy throughout the day.

Cinnabar: Still the best Cappuccino in Goa at Cinnabar

***Updated 2/12: Sad to say this great hangout place has closed.

A great place for breakfast (omelettes) and all day cappuccino. Rest of the menu is a little strange and the food can be inconsistent but I'll keep going back for the cappuccino!

    Favorite Dish: Cappuccino!!

    Breakfast at Panjim Inn

Panjim Inn is a little pension in an old colonial house in Fontainhas quartier. It is a hotel and a restaurant with a delicious wooden terrace at the first floor. Here you can try local specialities.

Favorite Dish: For dessert, try the BEBINCA, a famous typical dessert from Goa, veeeery sweet. Delicious!!

    by johnc50 Written Mar 16, 2011 1 reviews

We ate and drank a few times at the 24 hour bar World Food Court (next door to the Somy Resort Hotel) where Abhi (The Manager) and the rest of his staff where always eager to please, even going as far as getting Pizza’s delivered from Dominoes upon request. The menu is varied offering Indian, Goan, Chinese and Continental. The food at the bar was excellent

All Spice: All Spice...a superb place!

This is by far the best restaurant in the Arpora area. Great atmosphere...good mix of cuisines, although the Indian dishes are the best...and great music.

Be warned...it tends to get packed out most nights, as a lot of customers are frequent visitors ever since it opened in 2002...if you get there before 8pm you should get a table.

Favorite Dish: Where do you start...great steaks (Beef, Chicken, Pork, & Lamb) all served with Indian style mash and cabbage; the Chicken Chettinad is lovely, fresh fish & lobster...I just love all the curries!A...and they probably have the best range of kebabs in Goa! If you are going to have a starter I highly recommend the Prawns 65, and the Spicy Chile Beef!

    After Seven: Mmmm...nice steaks!

by BluBluBlu Updated Jan 31, 2011 751 reviews

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Based in south Calangute this is a delightful restaurant, and offers full silver service. Its not cheap...but definately worth a visit, and they have an extensive wine list.

Favorite Dish: I love the imported steaks here, but my faves are the Orange Souffle, and the Chocolate Mousse!

NB I took some friends here in November 2010, and both the food & service was terrible!
