Most of the restaurants on the popular beaches stop serving after 11pm. So the best thing is to take a walk down the road along the beach and look for the local restaurants which are mostly run by people in the front room and verandah of their homes.
Tip : Try the local goan cuisine, I am sure you would love it.

The Stone House in Candolim has a nice mix of Indian, Goan and Portuguese food. Set in front of an old stone house (surprisingly) built using the iconic local red sone. Nice relaxed feel, often live music and good spot to watch the world go by. Try the veg stuffed poppadoms for starter - YUM!!

Club City is on part of what was the old petrol station in Calangute. Its basically a collection of kitchens but with a central waiter service. So you can pick pizza; dosa's; kebabs; burgers; masala etc etc all from the same waiter. Its cheap, cheerful, but okay for a quick, cheap night out!
Favorite Dish: Try the four foot long dosa!

This place is a cross between a bakery and a restaurant. Serves great cakes, croissants etc plus does brilliant breakfasts, and great food in the evening. Is open all year around.
Favorite Dish: Various...the steaks are good, as are the coffees, plus the cakes fly out!

This is a little bar/restaurant by Baga Beach just down from Marinha Dourada...good for an afternoon beer but they do English food, including full breakfasts! They also have a small 'library'...so if you've finished your novel...go here and swop it!

A must go place to eat just like star bar. Try and work it out so that you go to one for lunch and the other dinner and in between you can take in the sites and sounds of Old Goa.
Situated in Panaji, this place is a local favorite for the sea food.
Favorite Dish: Don’t miss out on the Chicken Masala, Fried Squids and the Masala Fried Mussels.

We stayed in Patnem one night in a beach hut, based in the south and one night decided to scoot over to Palolem and stummbled on this wonderful Italian.
Its based on the main road in Palolem and the place is great. When you walk in skip past the tables and chairs and head for the back where the chill out area is, you can sit on some hippy couches and relax while you are having a pizza. The foods really good and the water is free!!.
If you do go to Palolem go here!!
Favorite Dish: Pizza and the wine !!!
