This is a MUST GO place in Goa!!We were approached while soaking in some rays on the beach in Calangute by the chef who gave us a flyer for his restaurant. We were impressed at his enthusiasm for his own food so we found our way to Roma to sample the delights that he promised would be on the menu. It was like love at first bite!! The chef Kharis Francesco has worked in top restaurants all over Italy and Paris and his inspiration and expertise comes through in his cooking.......the menu is HUGE and VARIED offering a sublime fusion of traditional Italian recipes and fresh fish and seafood....the result is mouthwateringly astoundingly good!! The salads are great and washed in purified bottled water..the pizzas are freshly made in the outdoor Goan oven and the service is impeccable... and you have to try the home made icecreams and sorbets. Roma was so good we went back three times!! I am so dissapointed i didnt take a photo here!! One more thing to mention; its so very very cheap!!
Favorite Dish: Rocket and parmasan salad
Gnocci with tomato sauce
fettuccine with seafood
tooo many to mention!!

I read about Souza Lobos on this site and when I saw the advertising posters for it at the Airport in Goa; it was decided that I would just have to find myself there to see what all this hype was about. Lo and behold...IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! The buzzing location of calangute`s main beach (full of tourists and locals alike) lends itself to give the restaurant a lively ambience. The staff are friendly and always happy to make learned reccommendations. The food was just so good and so fresh and so wel presented and so reasonable!! We were also told that all the seafood was fresh locally everyday!! One of my favorite places to eat in Goa! Both locals and tourists eat here....Just ask your taxi driver to take you straight there...everyone knows where this place is!

Approximately 20 kms from panji towards margaon just after crossing zuari bridge within 4 kms on right hand side you will find the perfect home made restaurant and bar called Bonny's Restuarant. Here Husband do all the work of outside and wife do all the cooking job. The perfect home made taste , homely atmosphere , cleanliness, fresh fish are the most attractions of this restaurant.
Cost of wine per glass is 10 Rs and any fish fry will cost you around 70 rs. The best thing is masala fried prawns , they are just delicious.
Favorite Dish: Prwans masala fried

Set in the gardens of the Taj Holiday Village, in the shade of a 300-year-old banyan tree and surrounded by a shimmering fish pond, this restaurant serves superb Thai food, such as coconut seafood soup and green papaya salad. The seafood dishes use fresh local fish and shellfish: try the poo gathi, river crabmeat in a spicy curry sauce. Every year, the restaurant brings in a chef from Thailand to refresh its menu.

It's a small restaurant right in front of the Kenilworth Hotel's beach.
Not fancy at all, but amazing fresh sea food. Very cheap and clean.
It's waiter, cashier, co owner is Rocky a nice guy, speaks good english and surprisingly Russian.
All the Russian tourists go there, he even has the menu in Russian.
Good effort.

The place is great for a lunch or dinner, you can see the beach and watch the sunset from it. Food is very good and prices are reasonable.
Favorite Dish: Seafood salad. It's called "seafood and vegetable salad" there, but it's mostly seafood and the portion is very large (was a whole meal for me :))
The price was 150 rupees ($3.5).
Garlic cheese naans (local type of bread) are also highly recommended!

The sun is setting, your tummy grumbles, your mouth is dry, and your feet are tired... head down to Baga Beach to somewhat of a landmark in Goa: Britto's!
They have Goan and also Continental specialties, and both are good. There's finger-licking yummilicious local seafood as well as delecacies for vegetarians.
The staff were friendly & knowledgeable, and really helped us to make the best choices with our food. It was definitely a very refreshing & hospitable experience :-)
The ambience is crowded but cozy - lively but not annoyingly so - relaxing lighting inside, and moon shine outside :-)
Favorite Dish: Don't miss the seafood platter, which 3 of us girls tucked into; the fresh crab, and of course the cocktails with vodka, rum & the local "Feni" (made from either coconut or cashew)
Wait! Leave some space for the amazing desserts, otherwise you'll regret it! And don't forget to pick-up some of their home baked bread for next day's breakfast.
NOTE: Get there early to get a table, because it gets crowded really quickly.
This is a permanent structure, not a shack.

Great seafood! When you want to order fish, they bring the day's catch to your table, so you can choose the very fish you like, and then they ask you how you want it cooked. Prices are reasonable, service is very good, food is great!
Favorite Dish: Red snapper tandoori with lemon sauce.
Prawns were also great there!

It was 20 years ago I was in Goa...
I can just imagine that the quality has gotten better.
On most of the Beach resorts an abundance of seafood places.
Watch just after dawn when the fishermen bring in their catch.
Panjim Market was interesting too.
