Anjuna Beach is one of Goa's most famous beaches in part for the Wednesday Flea Market held nearby and in part due to the party scene and drugs. It was the original "hippie" hangout in the 60's.
It is however, a very laid back and pretty beach. Sunsets here are gorgeous. When it's not crowded, it's heaven. Some good shacks/food on the beach. If you're not into parties come during the day (except Wednesday).
Be aware that drugs are easily available and very illegal!! You do not want to end up in an Indian prison.

Anjuna was once a famous destination of hippies. Today is Anjuna most known for the flea market (hippie market) on wednesday. Anjuna Beach is small compared with Candolim- and Calagute beach. Trans music parties amoung young backbackers takes place here.

Anjuna:
Anjuna, 18 kms from Panaji is a popular beach area adjacent to Chapora fort, it is very popular with the younger generation, so dont be surprised to see groups of students arrive in buses here! There is magnificent Albuquerque mansion built in 1920, flanked by octagonal towers and attractive Mangalore tiled-roof. The Anjuna band plays for the beach party at night. Palm trees stand motionless in the warm air. To the east is a mountain. If you want to return to civilization, climb the mountain to get to Baga where you can catch a ferry out. This is the Goa Freak capital of the World. Anjuna becomes a fair of colors. Lines of vehicles full of tourists start virtually raising clouds of dust in this area. Anjuna attracts a weird and wonderful collection of over monks, defiant ex-hippies, gentle lunatics, artists, artisans, seers, and the like. Full moon, when the infamous parties take place, is a particularly good time to be here if you want to indulge in bacchanalian delights. otherwise also you can indlge in some parasailing or just settle in the beach restaurant with some wine for a nice romantic candle light dinner!
Only a Brit would think about raving about the main beach, but it's worth the walk to the small, protected sliver of sand at South Anjuna where the area's long-term house-renters tend to gather.

Anjuna Beach,Well this is my fav Beach. Clean sand, sea and is not crowded with Riff-raffs!
relax and have fun over here... There are about 4 shacks that serve fresh fruits juices, food , fereshments and local liqour. As the evenings set in this place take a different mood, with loud Trance Music and neon lights in the bigger shacks.

This beach first claim to fame was back in the 60s when it was discovered by Hippies, some of which remain today and can be found selling their wares at the flea Market, Its also home to the Full moon parties.
The beach itself stretches for over 20 kms

Anjuna beach deserves a better reputation than it has, I found it very beautiful, it is smaller than the other Goan beaches. It is easy to find what you need here, Anjuna market is here ofcourse and there is also a possibility to buy things on the beach, some restaurants are also located here directly on the beach

18 km north of Panaji. Part of the 30 km coastline stretch of Northern Beaches of Goa that covers the most popular hotspots of Goa and India tourism.
This is the party beach of Goa, and also the most visited. The beach itself is just about ok, but the backdrop and more importantly, the interesting group of pleasure seekers is what makes it perhaps the most charming beach of Goa.
The village of Anjuna is a five square mile area nestling between the Arabian Sea and the hill overlooking the palm-fringed beach. Unusual black rock formations overlay a cove of white sand, jutting into the Sea.
