Arambol (Harmal) Beach
Just like the rest of the beaches in Goa you will find beach shacks, beach chairs and people walking about. Arambol is a quiet beach with what seems like a longer stretch of actual beach. The small town is a main road that leads to the beach is lined with a few places to stay, internet cafes, and of course-shops. There were a lot fewer people around this beach and those that were there seemed to have picked it for that reason. Others seemed to have been there for a while and use Arambol as their beach of "choice". Any beach you choose in Goa you can't go wrong. It is good for swimming and laying around. At low tide you can walk north toward Querim beach. There are a few beach chalets you can book accomodation and there is even a yoga institute (Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Center-www.hiyogacenter.com) and a paragliding operation (Arambol Paraglidingfirstname.lastname@example.org).
- Family Travel
I visited Arambol during the monsoon season when most restaurants, shops and accommodations are closed, when the sea currents are strong and the red flag is permanent on the beach. It was very quiet.
Arambol is a village in north Goa, 32 km from Mapusa. There are a few hundred local inhabitants in the village and many of them work with tourism or fishing. There are no big hotel complexes in Arambol, but mostly smaller budget accommodations. Thus it is a popular place with travellers during the tourist season., but I have also heard there are more bigger groups coming here. When I visited it was quiet but at other times you can try paragliding in Arambol and go on boat excursions. There are also sometimes parties, but since 2007 there is a law that no loud music is allowed to be played after 22.00. I think this is valid for all Goa.
The long sandy beach in Arambol is beautiful and stretches several kilometres to the south. To the north there is a rocky headland with hotels and restaurants, and beyond that you will find another beach, a small and quiet beach.

Arambol Beach - The Place to People Watch
Arambol is a vibrant traveller village / town with a lovely beach and great locals. I stayed in Arambol for a while and loved it thoroughly. I would get up in the morning have breakfast in one of the many small restaurants, lie on the beach, walk to other beaches in the area, climb the hill for better views etc....
In Arambol you can watch the locals catch the fish and then direct them to your favourite local restaurant and they would deliver it for you - you could be eating it that evening !!! How fresh is that.
There is nothing really to do in Arambol - surf the internet at one of the many Internet cafes, do a little shopping, learn Ayuvedic Massage, Yoga, Meditation. It is the night time when this place comes alive - many travellers gather in different bars with live music, dancing and the general fun of the nightlife - just choose what is right for you. There are no nightclubs in Arambol although some of the bars appear to open for quite an long time and then there is always the impromptu beach parties that just seem to happen.

- Arts and Culture
Arambol Beach is one of the northernmost beaches in Goa. The beach is nice, but the sand is a bit darker than f.ex Candolim and Calangute. This beach is a socalled hippie beach, and you might see some hippies there. Althought most of the old hippies have gone home or live in deserted places in Goa. The village of Arambol is cosy, with a narrow main street full of shops.
- Water Sports
This is the place to get away from the hassle of Calangute and Baga,
It's a beautiful long stretch of clean sand, to chill out and rejuvenate your self.
