Sinquerim Beach, Goa
Sinquerim is the first beach you'll hit when cross the Mandovi River from Panaji. The Taj Holiday Village (my favorite N. Goa hotel) sits overlooking the beach while the Taj Fort Aguada sits perpendicular to the beach overlooking a section of Fort Aguada (rampart), which is joined to the beach by a set of stairs.
This beach gets vey crowded with tourists and vendors. It's not really a place for relaxing but is the best place for watersports/rentals. Jet-skiing, boating, parasailing, etc. are done from here.
Have a nice lunch or some drinks at the beachfront Caravela at the Taj Holiday Village. There are also a few other restaurants along this stretch of beach.
If you'd like an interesting walk, the sand is uninterrupted up to Baga Beach - 9 km away. From Sinquerim, you'll hit Candolim, Calangute, and Baga beaches. Be sure to wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water. A hat and sunglasses are a good idea too!
The Sinquerim Beach is a c-shaped beach right south of Candolim. The distance to Panaji is 13 km. Fort Aguada is located near the beach (pictures from the beach are taken from the fort). Sinquerim is one of the oldest preserved beaches in Goa. There are a lot of waterjets and boats making the beach more noisy.
Most of it is private, located behind the Taj Resort. It was very quiet (as shown on the picture) but at least I could take a nap without fear of the vendors.
