Vapour Pub & Brewery: Don't miss the special days esp. the Ladies night

by udtaparindaa Written Apr 10, 2014

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Its a place which may be called value for money at its best and if you are not going at the right time its usually dull and quite boring

I went to drink some freshly brewed beer which when compared to some other locations was no match (although it wasn't bad either)

Chili potato was usual stuff while Hummus & Pita were above average. Jalapeno Cheese Poppers are something that usually is good almost everywhere and were fine here too

Ambiance is just fine and doesn't brighten up until late in night. Music was nice. Wednesdays are ladies night and are much more lively and fun than the non event days. The other days also witness different events and one must plan his visit accordingly.

Favorite Dish: Wheat beer is your best shot here.

    Kebab Xpress: Skip it!!

by udtaparindaa Written Mar 6, 2014

As we entered it felt like a good place to sit for a while chilling out with your friends and please your tummy without burning your pockets much (it's quite reasonable). But then being reasonable doesn't allow you to be complacent with taste.

We ordered Murgh Malai Tikka, Seekh Kebab Kathi Roll and Paneer Roll of which the later two were well below average while Malai Tikka was just fine. Felt quite disappointed and wouldn't be going there.

Let's keep it brief and waste no-more time (both me n you), so just in case someone visits Cyberhub at Gurgaon sometime just skip this one "totally" ( believe me I have pretty good taste buds :P )

Howzatt: Beer & Cricket - Deadly Combo!!

by udtaparindaa Updated Mar 3, 2014

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Cheers :D

Had been to few breweries, all in Gurgaon but this had something unique to offer. As the name suggests it has a cricket theme and for a nation that's crazy for this sports and plays some or the other format round the year, such a Pub is bound to be a craze.

The ambiance, loud music, the crowd, the food and the BEER everything would make you appreciate this place. It's usually very crowded during weekends and a prior reservation is recommended. We had to stand for a while near the bar before we got some seats even with a reservation.

Seating in the shape of keeper gloves is eye catching and also comfortable. I was here for my birthday and it truly turned out to be a great outing with friends. Those familiar with cricket terms would be happy to see a Doosra, Googly and a Bouncer in the menu as beers. We tried all three of them. I loved Googly the most, a nice Wheat Beer while those having a preference for Dark Beer should go for Bouncer. There are other options available too btw.

We had ordered Cheese & Potato tots and one more starter and food tasted pretty good too. Overall a very pleasant experience.

    Vaango!: Quite skippable

    Signature Masala Dosa

Not so authentic Filter Coffee made me move away from this place but considering dilli standards it was OK.

But then after few rounds we came back and had Signature Masala Dosa (difference between Masala Dosa and Signature 'wala' is Gunpowder). Dosa looked great by looks but tasted just fine. Crispy and tasty and "Gunpowder" (just that some of who don't know about it may get confused pls follow this link Gunpowder recipe :D ) was used generously but the masala inside wasn't good enough for my taste buds (couldn't feel the blend of the spices as it should be) and was bit more on the oily side. Sambar was just fine (read nothing special) while both "nariyal" and "lehsun" chutneys were below average. My mum cooks way way way better dosas at home plus they are selling at quite a price (I'm fine with this pricing but then the taste should justify the same)

Overall it's just average stuff and can be totally skipped. But just in case you wish to try South Indian cuisine and have no other options left this would be the closest for sure.

    Favorite Dish: nothing much :(

Chai Point: Serving the tea lovers of India!!!

by udtaparindaa Written Mar 2, 2014

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Always had this idea/dream in my mind during college days as I had always been a "chai" lover and it's heartening to see the concept is being used in several places across India finally and they are moving over "just coffee cafes" now.

I liked that the menu was brief avoiding any confusions and had just 4-5 varieties of tea at offer (usually the most famous ones across India I would say) along with few snacks like Banana Cake, puffs, samosa etc. I had Ginger tea and Banana cake and both of them were great. Pricing is quite reasonable.

I was too too full and next time I am surely gonna try Gulab Jamun puff :D

Favorite Dish: For now it's Ginger tea although I will be back to try Dum chai as well as Masala chai along with other stuff

Kebab Factory: Great Kebabs - interesting restaurant!

by nsurati Written Aug 6, 2007

The restaurant is a unique concept, it consists of a meal of succulent kebabs of varied meats and vegetables. The server will come over and keep serving you the different varieties while explaining what the dish is all about. Check out the place for an interesting dining experience.

In case you are staying at Park Plaza, their in-room-dining is also great.

    Karim's Restaurant: Mughlai Food

by Scarlie Written Nov 12, 2005

This unpretentious place offers a good variety of tasty mughlai dishes (mainly non-veg). I don't think they speak English, so a local 'guide' would be helpful.

Favorite Dish: Murgha Tikka - or Spiced Chicken Skewers
Jahangiri Murgh - thick spicy chicken stew - yummy
Shammi Kebab - mince goat meat burgers - don't be put off by the name, they are really tasty
