This shop offers some fantastic traditional handcrafted furnishings - from pillows to beadspreads to tableclothes. The work is exquisite and at bargain prices. Excellent for gifts for family and friends, as well as for your home.
The shop works exclusively with small local crafstmen and is supported by both the Indian Government an NGOs.
What to buy: pillow cases (and fillings), beadspreads, tableclothes
What to pay: the prices are fixed and scarily low for artisan craft (a pillow is around 200 rp)

There are three of four big malls in small proximity - MFG, City Centre, Plaza, Regent Square - which cater for all tastes and needs. Whether you are looking for traditional crafts or hip local clothes, books, travel bags (for that extra shopping you are going to do), you'll find that you need there. The opening hours are generally between 11:30am and 9pm.
What to buy: local handmade crafts, fabric, clothes, CDs, DVDs, etc.
What to pay: The main advantage for me is that you don't bargain. All prices are inclusive of taxes.
