This shop has wooden plaques, name boards, candle stands, bangles, key chains and so many other trivia which are ideal for gifting and for own use. He can even customize orders, as in you can choose your wooden board and the name or slogan you want to be painted on it. In just a few hours he can do it. He could also door deliver at your hotel if it is getting late. A very reliable shop.
It is near the chowk area if you walk towards Manoranjan dhaba, it is the shop adjacent to Vinod dhaba on the right side.

This is a very small shop opposite Manoranjan food joint. They had a very good collection of artificial jewellery, bangles, gift items and even some "Swiss souvenirs!!!!

Most shops sell spices such as local "Gantiwala Lasan" or bell shaped rounded garlic.. It has many medicinal properties and is good for digestion, gastric problems and pain relief.
They also sell Ajwain or Thyme
Saffron or Kesar is also sold,but I did not buy since I was very much in doubt about the quality.
Asofoetida is also sold.
Makhana is another item that is sold which can be used in gravies and chutneys.

This shop opposite Manoranjan Dhabha sold some of these Matha ke Charan which could be used in pooja at home or could be gifted. I paid Rs. 30 for the small ones and Rs. 60 for the big one in the picture.
You will find so many shops selling a variety of bangles and chains and other such accessories. The range is astounding and the prices are very reasonable. You will also find hair bands, clips and broaches.
All over Katra you will find shops selling beautiful cane baskets that are so irresistible. You can find picnic baskets, fruit baskets and so much more.
What to pay: They range from Rs. 50 to Rs. 500 depending on the size and shape
Jammu is famous for dry fruits especially walnuts and almonds beware lots of shop they will cheat you easily as we cannot differentiate between one or the other variety ..so visit alot of shops and fime out the prices.
Buy at Katra or Raghunath marhet in Jammu its near bus ,railway station.
What to buy: soft walnuts(the coverings are quite soft does not take too much pressure to break them),figs,almonds.
What to pay: depends have to chk price for same variety in different shops
You will find good quality Red kidney beans or rajmah which are small sized and very delicious. It costs about 100 to 140 per kg.
This is a good place to buy good quality dry fruits such as almonds, walnuts, berries, dried apples etc.
