Trekking up the 14 km path to the shrine of Goddess Vaishnodevi is quite challenging. It is also fun and energizing in a way. Favorite thing: This person who worked at the hotel where we stayed was so genuinely helpful. He is not a guide, but he helped us immensely with no expectations. I found him do the same to many others that we came across. I insisted that he take a small payment. In case you ever need a guide or someone to come along with you by foot to the temple, arrange last minute helicopter rides, or clear other doubts do contact Mr. Ganesh on 09796615970.
