Kollam is a little town so if you have some spare time it's worth doing a little walk;
there are a few small tempels and there is also a clocktower and spice warehouses( which area smells pretty good.

At Kerala one of the must do is take backwater trip,to enjoy beautiful scenic village,and being away from city life.
This is Quilan Boat Jetty.
Its near to Kollam bus stand,and 3kmfrom Railway staion.If wanna take boat ride one can choose regular boat service,
its like bus service,each village it stops, inexpensive.No need of booking,
just get in and took ticket,can get down any village,and catch the return back.
The one longest route is Quillan to Alleppy the best backwater water scenic :) route.
So many private Ferry operators are there,best try first Goverment one,office is inside the Ferry station.
To hire houseboat you have book early.
