We went to Mahabaleshwar in a car, our saviour my cousin, syed-arshad, u will find his page on VT. As it goes with all of India, it is best seen n understood if u travel by road, preferably ur own mode of transport. U will get to know the place better.

ROAD: air-conditioned video coaches daily day & night to & fro Mahabaleshwar.
The rate per person one way is Rs.300/= to Rs.350/= in season, & Rs.220/= to Rs.280/= during off season.
Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar at 06:00 am & 10:00 pm.
Mahabaleshwar to Mumbai at 09:00 am & 2:30 pm
Total journey time is approximately 7 hours.
There are daily buses to Kolhapur, Satara, Pune and Panchgani.

Beautiful landscape with Dam, Strawberry fields, hairpin turns, steep cliffs and monkeys. We enjoyed the many viewpoints around Mahabaleshwar. Rented taxi. And we drank many liters of strawberry...
