Mr.S.S.Lee opened the restaurant CHUNG WAH in 1975.Those days chowmein or noodles or chilly chicken were definately not very popular words as it is today and definately not in Puri. Mr.Lee was confident and he went ahead. His son Alfred who is also the managing partner said
those days their main customers were the Russians who were located in Rourkella Steel plant, also a substantial number of tourists who came from Japan, Korea,Europe and of course the Quintessential Bengali Bhadroloks. Now the majority of his clientele make up of the local population of Puri and nearby cities and towns.
The Restaurant has seating capacity for 88 heads. Both the restaurant and the Hotel is on V.I.P road very near the Subhas Chandra Bose statue,Puri.
The restaurant serves authentic chinese food and it immediately reminds you of Tangra in Calcutta, the food is cooked under the supervision of the family members to ensure that the taste and quality is not compromised. The price is standard and similar to that of the chinese restaurants in Tangra.
For booking and queries Alfred can be reached at the following number +919937158989 or email - leegardens@rediffmail.com

Very Good vegetarian dishes. In fact we make it a point to go to this restaurant during our stay. Good ambience and beautiful view of Sri Jagannath temple from the balcony. One can see entire market from this place. Good food, good service, nice view and proper rates what else one wants to have a great lunch or dinner!
Favorite Dish: As for myself I can say I frequent Grand Hotel for the love of good vegetarian food and temple view. It's like an an oasis amidst all hullabaloo of noisy Puri market.

It was by sheer chance we discovered this eco-friendly restaurant Wild Grass near Hotel Samudra. Full of greenery and perfect landscaping this restaurant is a must-go for all food lovers. Reasonable price and yummy delightful food. Actually, the best thing about Wild Grass is its nice and cozy atmosphere, There is a machan and a couple of huts which offer perfect ambience for dinner or lunch.
Favorite Dish: I tried almost all vegetarian dishes and they were all good.
