Panjim Inn is a little pension in an old colonial house in Fontainhas quartier. It is a hotel and a restaurant with a delicious wooden terrace at the first floor. Here you can try local specialities.
For dessert, try the BEBINCA, a famous typical dessert from Goa, veeeery sweet. Delicious!! Leave a Comment

A vegetarian restaurant at the back side of the Prince of Wales Museum (Colaba), famous for its THALIS, served in a round tray, including rice, chapati, a variety of vegetable dishes and dessert. They keep serving you more food as you finish it, until you say "stop, please". Lots of public officials go there to have lunch. They have a book store and art gallery as well. I arrived in Palolem on my way southwards from Panjim, just to take a couple of pics of the beach. But I liked the place so much that I stayed 5 days there. It was deserted in august (monsoon). Just a few foreigners on the couple of huts where you can sleep on the beach. All I did on those days was sit on the beach terrace drinking lassies (liquid yoghourt) in the mornings, and beers in the afternoon. In between drinks I had some lazy walk along the shore, went for a swim, burnt a bit under the sun and back to the terrace for one of those "just caught" fishes with a rice curry... Paradise!!! India has the world's largest population of hoofed bovines (think: sacred cows). Thus, the country produces so much supply of milk not just to feed its more-than-a-billion people, but also to churn out other related products such as butter, yoghurt, and everybody's favorite - ICE CREAM. The ones I've tasted in India are suuupppeerrrr delicious, suuupppeeerrrr creamy ice cream that come in various flavors - mocha, chocolate, butterscotch, strawberry and simple yet suuupppeeerrrrr yuuummmyyy vanilla (said to be the preferred flavor in India). To have these suuuupppeeerrrr yuuummmyyy treats, just look for those colorful, ubiquitous ice cream stalls scattered all over the country (the one shown here is in Ghandhinagar, Gujarat, just outside Ahmededabad). Most restaurants (called hotels in India) also serve ice cream as do all hotels (the one where you sleep, eat, etc.). Now, if you happen to be in Ahmedabad (capital of Gujarat state), you are in for a very special treat. This city is regarded as India's ice cream capital and is home to three large ice cream factories. I was served several scoops of vanilla ice cream at my hotel (their compliments), and it was pure bliss! This is a famous Institution. Its located outside the Fort but in the actual wall of Jaislamer Fort, feft as you leave Jaislamer fort. Across the street is a modest collection of eateries and a few good Juice shops. The Bhang Shop is government authorised to specialise in Bhang. So its sale is legal.
Bhang Lassi (Yoghurt drinks) Bhang Cookies Bhang Juice Bhang Cake Bhang Sweets and Lemon with Bhang are a few things on the Menu. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: In the Wall of Jaislamer Fort

Yum yum yum. Sitting on the gahts on a hot Varanasi day, when along comes a geeser with some nuts. She said hello sir would you like some. I said would I what! So he gave me some for 10 rupees. I ate them with a bottle of Fanta. Until some local kids came past and in a childish fashion swiped it. The local monkeys like the peanuts too.

Going to the northern part of India means I can learn about 'up-up-up' India's neighbours. Such as Tibetan Cuisine which I like very much. Say as earlier experience before heading to Nepal and Tibet one day in the future :)
Anykind of 'halal' Tibetan Cuisine. Leave a Comment Theme: Pan-Asian and Pacific RimPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Majnu-ka-Tilla, Delhi, India

Being that cows are held sacred in India, none are slaughtered for their meat. That means McDonald's had to find an alternative meat to make their Big Macs. And what else is there but the chicken? As you probably read on my other pages, the Big Mac was replaced by the Chicken Maharaja Mac. Different name, different taste, but still delicious!
The Chicken Maharaja Mac... just because it's so big and juicy!!! Leave a Comment Theme: Fast FoodPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Everywhere in IndiaDirections: Look for the big yellow M !

Being a trucker isn't all that it's cracked up to be. The long road can get might lonely after a while. And then fatigue sets in. Luckily, for all the Indian truckers out there, there are Dabas where one can get some rest, and some chai. The Daba is a place for truckers to rest after a long day of driving. I'm sure they open their doors to anyone, however, and surely at a reasonable price!
We stopped at a Daba to get some chai. Despite the slightly dirty glasses they were served in, it was the best chai I ever had!! Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: All along the highways!Directions: Everywhere in India!

You get fed up after a while of drinking water or fizzy drinks...so try a refreshing Lassi instead. Its a drink made with curd & ice and is totally refreshing! You'll normally get asked 'sweet or sour'? which means do you want sugar or salt added. I've drank Lassi all over...but the best type I had was the 'Makhania' Lassi in Jodphur...sublime!
