The Athirampally and Vazhachal Waterfalls aren’t actually in Shoranur, they’re about 90 km away. But they’re pretty, if rather crowded, and the drive up looked like it would have some nice places to stop for tea and snacks along the way. The falls are perhaps 5 km apart - Athirampally is larger, Vazhachal is shadier, with more safe swimming holes.
Besides the main walk to the falls, there’s a (very) little bit of hiking around both of the falls themselves.
