    Mecca Masjid

This is the biggest mosque in Hyderabad . The name is derived from the Grand Mosque at Mecca on which it is patterned.

    Speciality :::
The hall measures 67m by 54m and is 23m in height. Fifteen arches, five on each of the three sides, support the roof.

The mosque is one of the largest in India and can accommodate ten thousand people at a time.

    Moghul Gardens, at Ramoji

The world's largest, most comprehensive and professionally planned film production centers. Its built on 2000 acres of land and houses Studios, Gardens, Hotels, Multi-storied buildings and special structures of all kinds.
They offer a wide variety of holiday and getaway packages for you to refresh and recharge. Be it relaxation or activity, adventure or amusement...its all there.
The daily tours begin at Eureka, where you'll find a heavenly mix of both Oriental as a well as the Western culture. Stunt shows and dance programes add fun and gaiety to the atmosphere. Also at Eureka you'll see the Moghul Gardens (see picture) and if you go a little further you'll find Hawa Mahal....Beautiful structures!!!
From Eureka the bus drives up to the film sets where you'll find all kind of sets be it a University, a Hospital, Police head quarters, Airport and even a fake Taj Mahal.
Gardens dot the whole place and my personal favorites were the Japanese and the Umbrella gardens.

    Buildings
    by Donna_in_India
Many people would not find this interesting or a "thing to do", but since we are in the IT business my husband and I wanted to check out the area known as Hi-Tech City/Cyberabad. We have watched all the companies coming into the different cities in India for the past 5+ years. All of this has led to all kinds of growth, building, traffic, etc. Some of it good, some of it not so good. We were pretty surprised at all the companies in Hyderabad, as well as all of the buildings coming up - both commercial - and residential to house all the techies.

Check out the Aliens Space Station 1 residential complex: http://www.aliensspacestation1.in/htmls/home.html

    It Companies (so far):
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IT_companies_in_Hyderabad

They are building several more hotels in the area and are also building a new road to the (great, new) airport to connect it directly to the area without the need to travel through the "city".

One of the modern monuments of trade and technology, it embodies the newfound attitude of Hyderabad and today finds a place of pride. Situated on the outskirts of the city, it is the nucleus of Cyberabad, the IT destination in these parts of the world

There are a lot of places to see in Hyderabad like Golconda Fort, Qutb Shahi Tombs, Falaknuma Palace, Chowmahalla Palace, Purani Haveli, Salarjung Museum, Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Lad Bazaar, Ramoji Filmcity, Buddha Poornima, Necklace Road.
You will also get to see the modern side of it in Hi-Tech City...home for all the computer giants like Microsoft, Apple....and a host of other places. Also in Hi-Tech City there is a place called Shilparamam, where a lot of fairs and cultural events are organised on and off.
Besides there is a lot of theatre activity going on too. Have a nice look at the Salarjung Museum where the Nizam Jewellery Exhibition is put up. Exquisite Collection!!!
Lad Bazaar is the main market in Charminar where various bangles in Glass and Shellac can be seen in all their glory. These bangles form a must wear in any Hyderabadi wedding which is incomplete without this work of art.
One will also run into various clothes stores offering ethnic Zardozi work, Zari and silk embroidery which is a treat for the eyes especially the kind of detail every outfit is stitched with~they are very popular at weddings.
You will find innumerable Pearl and Gold Jewellery shops in Charminar which offer a wide range of ethnic and chic designs keeping with the current trends.

Built in 1913, the building was originally the Hyderabad State Town hall. The architecture is a synthesis of Rajasthani and Persian styles, with an all white, aesthetic look. Located adjoining the picturesque Public Gardens, a massive statue of Mahatma Gandhi in a sitting posture is erected at the entrance park to the Assembly.

Completed in 1694 this is one of the largest Mosques in India. Mecca Masjid got its name because the central arch is believed to be built using bricks which came from Mecca.
