Although this isn't specifically a warning or danger, it is a word of caution so I thought this was an appropriate place to post it. On the day I left home (Minnesota) it was -20 Fahrenheit (-29 Celsius) so I was very happy to be going to a warm destination. I had packed a pair of shorts for that very reason. Well, the first day I wore shorts in Visag there were so many people coming up to me asking me to be in their pictures or home videos. I'm sure this wasn't just because I was obviously a foreigner because the day before I was wearing jeans and no one approached me. I agreed to most requests because it was something I could do to make someone happy and all I had to do was stand there and smile or wave if it was a home video. There was one group in particular that was quite funny. It was a group of three girls that were right around my age. They had been following me and my friend in a park for about 10 minutes before one of them got up the nerve to ask me to be in a picture with them. I thought it was an amusing situation so I asked my friend to take a picture with my camera as well. That was the only day that I wore shorts in India. I had been so excited to wear shorts because of the extremely cold weather back home, but it just wasn't worth it because of all the unwanted attention that it brought.
