Law Garden Market: The best place to buy Gujarati Traditional wear

by dkphabiyani Written Jan 4, 2014

There are around 10-15 shops surrounded by Law Garden which are open for 365 days. These shops are well known to buy Gujarati Traditional Wear (Chaniya Choli) which normally wear by Gujarati Women during Garba.

What to buy: Chaniya Choli, Ladies Top, Dress Materials

What to pay: Don't pay what is being demanded. Try to do better negotiation as price can be reduced upto 40-50%

Law Garden Night Markets: Hand-made treasures

by lynnehamman Updated Jun 8, 2013

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Night Markets sell a wide array of the famous mirrorwork clothing and textiles that Gujerat is famous for. Most of the wares are made in Rahn of Kutch area. The Bead & mirror-work is all done by hand, and is quite exquisite. Long, traditional skirts are a swirl of colour. The markets line the road, and were very busy while we were there. Bargaining is expected, and the prices that I paid were very reasonable.I bought my daughter a choli, which is a short, tight midriff length blouse- and she loved it.It is covered in tiny pieces of mirror.
Food & Chai stalls were busy all night, and atmosphere was festive. We saw not one western tourist on the night we were there.

What to buy: Mirror-work articles of clothing
    Emroidered & mirrored cushion covers

What to pay: Bargain- within reason. MUCH work goes into the making of these beautiful items.
