Royal Enfield motorbike

You can ride a royal enfield motorbike from Manali to Leh, over the one road that is open during the summer months Aug-Sept. You ride over the highest passes in the world upto 5600m. Amazing! There is no petrol station for a large part of the journey so make sure you buy spare tanks and fill them up at the last station! Use your horn a lot to make sure everyone knows you are on the road and go with a 500cc bike, not the 350cc bike coz that one may have difficulty getting over some steep hills. If you dont feel sure going on your own, you can join LEF Expeditions on www.lefexpeditions.com, you get the best guide ever and they make sure you get some good off-the-beaten Indan motorbike experience!!!

4 kms from Manali near the village of Perini is the Arjuna cave. It is said that Arjuna wanted the weapon from the king of the Gods Indra and he chose this place to meditate and please Indra to acquire the weapon. The place offers a charming panoramic view of the hills and the mountains around.

Take a wonder around the Tibetan settlement which is just before the mall, visit the little shops selling all sorts of things and try the delicious Tibetan mo mo`s for lunch before you explore the shops on the mall.

Manali, the Kullu valley, and the Rohtang pass in the himalayas are a good place to consider visiting if u are looking for a getaway to the mountains. The road from here towards Ladakh leads you thru the spectacular valleys of Lahaul and Spiti.
Manali is a popular destination for backpackers and trekkers.
