Fortunately & surprizingly there are no tourist traps.. people are very genuine... so no need to worry... even if you bargain you can get a good discounts in the hotels.... only be careful of the street hawkers selling Musk, Saffron & Shilajeet.... because in 90% cases its fake.

A: Not at Manali but with Delhi at 45 degrees celsius (c. 120 degrees Farenheit), I'm sure just about everyone will be up in the hills. Try other places in Uttarakhand.
