You will find kinnauri topis or himachali topis which are round caps made of wool and have embroidery in the front.They look very smart and ethnic.They are priced between Rs.50 to Rs.200.They are colourful and a must buy for both yourself and to gift others.

There are rows and rows of shops in the area called "the Mall".You can find shops selling all possible things.It is a nice place to spend an evening not just shopping,but also you could eat snacks and hang out drinking in the atmosphere.The mayor's office and buildings and the church there add to the ambience.
What to buy: Clothes,woolen garments,shawls,jewellery,bags,leather,dry fruits,honey,short eats,jams,juices,pickles etc.
What to pay: you need to bargain here.but it is not an upend place.

Along the Mall Road, can be seen many many local crafts for souvenirs. Made-in local from Himachal Pradesh. But if you want to buy branded goods, also available here. For example; Reebok, Adidas, etc.
What to buy: my fave is local craft here. including Kashmiri pashmina. nice and keep it as part of memory during my stay at Shimla :)
What to pay: about Rs20 - Rs100.

Shimla on summer festival is heaven. Many fresh fruits can be found here. From aam [mango], to plum, red cherry, peach and dates.
What to buy: Peach, plum, mango and several sweets.
What to pay: about Rs5 - 25 [very cheap compared with price for these fruits in my country!!!]

Even you're not yet going to Tibet, you can find several of Tibetan stuffs here in Shimla. As I found at Ram Bazaar.
What to buy: Several small souvenirs and Tibetan women shirt -- long sleeve which I like very much. So comfy to use it :)
