Luggage and bags: Carry lots, don't be afraid of carrying more luggage coz more you carry better equipped you will be.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Good heavy shoes, socks, gloves, mufler, jacket, and pullovers. As the temperature reaches down quite low even in August. Caps will also be of great help. Goggles are a must because of strong rays of the sun.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sun screen, moisturisers, body oil, moov, iodex, medicines for headache, dizziness and body pain. Dispirin proves very effective.
Photo Equipment: Good quality camera to shoot and lots of rolls.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If planning to camp, be ready with packed food and lots of water as most of the distances one is not sure to find good restaurants. Getting your own food packed is better.
Miscellaneous: Oxygen cylinders and a medicine to suffice lack of oxygen. Though we were given medicines by the hotel manager only. Still, it is better to carry your own kit. If asthma or arthiritis patient carry fool medicine box with you.

Luggage and bags: Make sure you have a backpack of convenient size with you to pack in sun screen, water and other stuff. You will probably spend a considerable time outdoors and the cool winds could be misleading. There is a strong sun in summer.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The weather can change pretty fast, so its best not to take chances with clothing. Also, it can get cold pretty quickly as soon as the sun sets behind the mountains
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Altitude sickness can be a factor for some. You are at 11,000 feet after all. Take it easy on the first day of course, and if it dosent help even after that, you may need some medication. The local chemists will also stock everything that you will probably need, but if you are headed out of town, make sure you are well stocked, since there are areas of complete wilderness aplenty
Photo Equipment: The shops in town should have all that you may need. Rolls, batterys, memory sticks... Also, ensure you have enough space on your memory card when you set off, since Ladakh offers photo ops everywhere you look
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: try to travel light, but you may have rafting-treking etc on mind, so pack accoridingly

Luggage and bags: Nothing extraordinary, any bag/suitcase will do here.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Some warm clothing will do, Leh is quite pleasant from May-September. After that gets very cold.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: TISSUE PAPER, TISSUE PAPER, AND MORE TISSUE PAPER!!! It's very expensive in Leh, don't know why. And yes, sunscreen (above 15 SPF) is quite useful.
Photo Equipment: Digital cameras have shorter battery life, due to the temperature being outside the normal operating range of the batteries. People should plan and stock up for a 15-20% drop in battery life.
Miscellaneous: Torch (no power most of the time in Leh)

Luggage and bags: a small backpack for day hikes
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: it's hot... incredibly hot. Light trousers, t-shirts, and sandals are a must. At night it's not very cold: a light sweater is more than enough.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: imodium... dont even thing of going to Ladakh without. You're most likely to need it, no matter how careful you are. Also bring your own toilet paper - outside the hotel it's not common to find it
Photo Equipment: films and batteries are available in Leh without problems. If you bring your own A4 batteries put them in your luggage before the flight or they will be confiscated.
Miscellaneous: lighters... bring some of them, and pack them in your main luggage before the flight.. or they will likely be confiscated. Then again, if you don't have cigarettes in your hand luggage, custom officers don't quite check for it, and you might get away with it (I always did)

Luggage and bags: I didnt bring anything really but for some clothes. All I could need was available in Leh. Bring an extra bag though for the fantastic crafts!! I bought this solid wood and metal handcrafted box, as well as some beautiful silver and shawls! One should bargain - but bargain friendly! :)
Miscellaneous: Security at Leh airport is TIGHT! Do not take batteries of any sort into your hand luggage. You will only have to give them up and then try and pick them up again after landing.
