Sonnmarg is my favorite hill station

by Ecstasy8

I hired a car and driver from Srinagar and took this beautiful road trip in the morning to the tranquil hill station of Sonnmarg. I splashed in and even drank the spring water, took a donkey ride up toward the glacier, got some sun in a picnic by the river, and noticed some serious hikers heading up the mountain. I headed back for Srinagar around 3pm, arriving before sunset. Lots of unattractive potato chip sellers and the like along the way, but very calm once reached and during most of the journey. I LOVE this place because it looks kind of like the Alps, but it's so peaceful and remote and unspoilt.
