    South Indian vegetarian-whole some with selection of rice, Puri-Roti, 3 vegetables, yoghurt, pickle, papaddum and sweet for Rs 30/ with replenishment at no extra cost!

    The restaurant of the Orcha Resort is very good. You can eat delicious vegetablepastries here. And though most people only drink lassie (milky yoghurt with fruits or plain) at breakfast I love it for desrt too.

    Veggy pastries, lassi, baked potatoe slices with garlic & cheese sauce.

    This is a restaurant where we stopped on the road to Orcha. They have great cold drinks yummy! The toilets here are rather funny. They are outside the restaurant at the side of the road. They are like little houses of stone with a wooden door in it. There were three of these 'houses' in a row, and one was a shower. The toilets had no toilet paper. The toilet was a hole in the ground. You could wash your do away by using the can with water beside it...

    I liked the naan bread and the cold drinks here.

    SOME THINGS, thankfully, never change. And it should not change, like the Mavalli Tiffin Rooms that dishes up staple South Indian breakfast/ tiffin to thousands of people every day.Truly as a Bangalorean most of us feel that if you haven't had food here then you haven't been to Bangalore. Luxury of yesteryears and tradition in today's is what is MTR!

    Mavalli Tiffin Rooms, a 'pure' vegetarian cuisine, more popularly called as MTR has been the pride of Bangalore and more so for the southerners for over 83 years now. Situated on Lalbagh Road, and very close to the Lalbagh gardens, the doors of this small vegetarian restaurant always opens for serpentine queues of joggers, walkers and the regulars waiting for their breakfast of mouth watering delicious Idli's, Dosas, Uppittu and Kesari Baath and hot piping coffee. Though till date I do not understand why they would want to exercise and then indulge in this sinfully ghee filled food! :D

    Not to be missed! However do not expect a great ambience, just go for the great food. It is a run down restaurant, but the that is part of the experience. And do expect to wait a bit for a seat and service.

    Choose the Buffet or you can order off the menu. I strongly recommend the buffet, a good variety of curries (my favorites were the Rogan Josh and the Manchuri Gobi) and it includes desert.

    Great value, cant rememeber how much exactly but for 2 buffets, a few drinks costed about $15 USD so I guess the buffet was about 150/- ($4 AUD)

    If I were staying in Bangalore I would have loved to have gone here again, and it remains one of my fondest memories when it comes to dining!

    Food from the coastal state of Kerela. I am not a big seafood fan, but all else tasted amazing!
    The decor-ambience-setting is good and the prices are pretty reasonable. Service is good too... hmmm... took us three days to find this place, and were it not for our driver, we may never have:P

    Some of our travelfriends had their birthday. So we had a party in the restaurant, they even baked a special Indian birthday cake (very sweet tasting cake, but nice). A musiciamn provided some (bad) music... (on the left picture). The birthdayparty people were (picture on the right): Annemarie, Gerard and Harma.

    • It is one of the oldest - the owner is in this trade for ages.... actually - it is the Dal Makhni that is the best.

    Dal Makhni (lentils with butter/ cream), fried Baby Corn, Keema (mince meat), Naans( kneaded dough baked in a clay oven) & The Fruit Punch!

    It is on the 13th floor of Hotel Ivory Tower, I know this does not sound very high, but it is beautiful view nonetheless. Weather in Bangalore is quite pleasant most of the year, so it is great to sit outside.

    They specialse in Parsee food - I don't know much but ask the waiters for help.
