Be aware that Bijapur also is called Vijapur(a).
After we bought the bus ticket we noticed that the name on our ticket was Vijapur not Bijapur... We got a bit nervous, maybe we bought the wrong ticket? We asked around and the locals where doing their indian head shaking and told us "yes it's Vijapur"... hm. We had to take the chance, and after 6 hours on a local bus we ended up where we wanted, Bijapur, and learned that the city is called Vijapur in Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra.
