Noor's Incense and Perfume store is an absolute MUST when you visit the Night Market of Mysore. (This is the main fruit, veg and flower market which is enormous fascinating and very attractive). Noor's stall is in the middle aisle at the 'bottom end' of the market (near the apple and pomegranite sellers!).
Noor's family have been selling their own hand-rolled incense and perfume oils for three generations, and he offers amazing value for money - he will make you up ten x 10ml bottlesof your chosen perfumes, all packed into a locally carved brass-inlaid wooden box for 1,000Rps (about £14), and his incense sticks are great quality and very good value too.
He and his family are really friendly and genuine and will take time to go through all the fragrances with you if you wish. Don't be fooled by other stall-owners in the market who say they are related to Noor though, as they try to sell you diluted oils at higher prices!
What to buy: Hand-rolled incense and perfume oils.
What to pay: 2-5Rps per Incense stick / 100Rps for 10mls (700Rps for 100mls).

If you like to buy some souvenirs as there are sandalwood elephants, boxes, beautifully carved wooden boxes with or
ur without cupper engraving, don’t hesitate, take the opportunity. On top of the Chamundi Hill there are loads of vendors. The quality is good and the prices here are much lower than in the official shops. Don't forget the bargaining.
A tip : If you fall for some souvenir in some city, buy it without hesitation, you hardly or never find the same again in an other city.
