Calicut Restaurants

Well, in indian English, Hotel sometimes means Restaurant ! Don't be surprised you've seena hotel sign borad and they say they're just a restaurant, atleast when you're in Kerala.

Well, let me come to the subject.
Hotel Sagar is very near to the KSRTC ( Kerala Road Transport Corporation Limited ) Bus station in Calicut. If you're in some other part ot calicut city, the best way to reach Hotel Sager is to get an autoriksha( the three wheeler).
Well there are 2 Hotel Sager, both being managed by sae company. Still, I would advice you to go to the one next to KSRTC stand.

The Hotel itself is a 18th century Muslim home. They just renovated it to a hotel( Again I repeat you can't stay here, it's ust a restaureant-not be betrayed with the word 'restaurant')

Now, ask for Porotta and 'meen'( fish in malayalam) curry. Or you can just ay Poratta and fish curry please. hey, Keralite are not that bad in English.

You might be paying around Rs.25(0.5 Euros) for this delicacy. It'll fill your stomach for a whole day.

I recommend you to visit this 'Hotel' if you have any plan to go to Kerala. It's worth it !
Only incase you are found of Indian food and ofcourse in the 'indian masalas'.
