Try our the Hotel Mahaveer in Munnar it serves good vegetarian North Indian Food. They prepare everything fresh so we will have to wait for 15 to 20 mts for the food to come.It is in heart of munnar town
Favorite Dish:
We ordered Bombay Thali meals it was very good.
This small, affordable and delightfully creative restaurant is located at the Munnar main bazar. You will find most the regualr Kerala food dishes like Parotta, beef dishes, and biriyani, but the thing to savour and delite your taste buds are the eclectic international dishe spread. It is amazing cheap, hygienic and you can even design your meal according to the additions and toppings.
When in Munnar, make it a point to have a meal here and Im sure you'll come down again. We had our 2 meals back to back here.
Its open 6.30 am to 9.30 pm
Favorite Dish:
My fave after a day's wild traveling is the Fruit curd made with seasonal fruits with yogurt mixed with honey n sugar, priced at Rs 40.
And the Spanish omlette priced at Rs. 35- this one has smashed potatoes, fried onion and mixed with eggs - its called the real one on thier menu, named such for some strange reason!
This place is highly recommended by lonely planet and a lot of other travel guides, and you will more often than not find a lot of tourists round lunch and dinner time, so hang in there and be patient.
first of all there are two guru restaurants in munnar or so it seems. the one iam referring to is on the road connecting isaacs residency/edassery eastend hotel to tea county the KTDC resort.
in off season we were not so sure of which eatery to select as we had not seen too many restaurants in munnar although there were a lot of boards. some as munnar inn were looking city types with "nescafe" on menu what happened to good old south indian filter coffee.
i discovered gurus on day 1 itself. i had set out for early morning walk. while returning i could hear the familiar buzz of the kitchen stoves and open door with few early morning customers.
i met the head waiter mohan dressed in a lungi. he confidently answered whats available. i could make out that it wasa running hotel.
i put an idea across to my family abt guru and they agreed. instead of cosmetic dosas and idlis in 5 star hotels i love the rustic stuff.
gurus treated us to a lovely fare.
Favorite Dish:
best is veg clear soup dont miss on this dish.it may seem outlandish to try it in gurus but they make it better than anyone i know.
fresh steaming appams with chana masala/egg roast.

Excellent pure vegetarian restaurant for real veggies.
Workers' restaurant, for both, locals and foreigners.
Tasty.
Simple, straight, very good service, without extra manners, efficient.
