We rented a motorbike and helmets in Munnar and had some nice trips in the surroundings.
In the mornings and evenings it's cold to drive here in the hills of Munnar, so bring some long sleeve clothes.

Hallo,
My name is Vinose. I wanted to visit Thekkady, Kodaikanal, Munnar and then Ooty via motor cycle [Enfield Bullet]. Is it so rainy in the month of November?
I checked the map and we have a clear route for Thekkady and Munnar. But is it possible for me use the Munnar-Kodaikanal road by motor cycle. Is it safe?
What is the lodging cost in Thekkady (or near), Kodaikanal, and Ooty.
Do you write me in clear details?
best

the best way to move around in kerala is to get in touch with keralataxi.com the traveldesk of ktdc.
you can contact them over internet or over phone book the car of your choice and relax.
the driver comes to pick you up at the airport.and you can straight away proceed from there to the destination of your choice.
the usual charges are 1500 INR for a day inclusive of drivers charges of waiting for 100kms.for every km thereafter 10INR .
compare this with the ripoff you encounter if you hire a transport for a pickup and drop from airport to munnar which is charged double.dont fall for this.
hire from keralataxi.com and the driver and vehicle moves around with you wherever you go and finally drops you when and where you desire.
you get cars jeeps SUVS .
i will recommend mahindra scorpio it gave an excellent performance over some really bad and mountainous stretches.
not only that they sent me the official receipt to my residence by mail after a few days back in mumbai.
especially recommended for foreigners who would appreciate advance booking and pickup at airport or railway station.

This cheap form of transport gives you the chance to sit back and enjoy the scenery, and travel with the locals.
Express (direct) buses will be the quickest, but other buses give you chance to stop at smaller towns etc en route.
From Trivandrum 9 hours 4 daily
Kochi 4 1/2 hours 5 daily
Kottayam 5 hours 4 daily
Kumily 5 hours 5 daily
To Trivandrum there are 2 buses that go via Kochi and Ernakulum, and 3 that go via Kottayam.
To Kumily (for Periyar) there are 2 private buses daily
Kerala and Tamil State buses go from the south of town. Private buses from the bazaar area.

These operate through the town area mainly, but will travel further afield. Negotiate a price before setting off!
Much of the accomodation is quite a distance from town, so this may be your only option of transport as most of the accom isn't on the bus route.
