What to pack for State of Kerala

Luggage and bags: Well creams for mosquito bites, check the weather and carry an umbrella if it is rainy season,
carry a hat or cap

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: try to get sandals and i no white shoes coz when you get back its going to be brown : )
umbrella if it is raining.
Dont carry thick clothes coz it might tend to get humid.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: the usual any pain killers if u have any personal brand coz you might not get them here.

Photo Equipment: well nothing special. Make sure you have enogh memory in your stick as you will shoot 1000 pics....

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: swim suits.... shorts...dont bother about beach umbrellas or towels.
sun tan lotions and insect bite creams if ur sensitive to any.

Miscellaneous: A good sun glass. Come to dubai with less stuff coz you will be doing laods of shopping :)

Luggage and bags: - Keep Tourch lights, Batteries with you

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: - Light, tropical and cotton clothes. Dress light, but also resist the temptation to go scantier than local standards. Pants, bermudas, t-shirts are always acceptable.

- Keep Cotton towels

Luggage and bags: Don't bring with you bulky bags if you plan to travel around the state a lot. A backpack or a medium-size suitcase would do.
If you travel with infants - have their *equipment* ready. For elder kids you can find lots of things there.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you are at the resort or a public beach - don't be afraid of bikinis (stay away from n00dies though) and flip-flops, shorts and tank-tops. You'd be more comfortable in cotton wear and closed shoes if you want to wonder around or take a bike ride. This state is a bit conservative, so make sure you ask where you are going once you are invited to visit some places: I wasn't warned by my friend we were going to a fishermen village and appeared there in a tank-top and low-waist jeans. Of course I felt naked and saw people being shocked to the depth of their beings.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunblock. Mosquito repellent. And if you are in need of special medication - do bring enough. It is not hard to find toiletries there, but just in case have an extra deodorant.

Photo Equipment: If you are a high class photographer - be sure you have everything handy with you. You can get batteries and rolls there but it would be hard to find specific part of your equipment to replace.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Carry light cotton dresses since the place is very humid. Add an umbrella in ur travel kit , to protect u from sudden rainfalls as well as to protect from u the bright sun too..
No leather foot wear.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Stay one day in a house boat ..in back waters.
If u carry mosquito coil the stay will be more enjoyable..:):):):.

Luggage and bags: My holiday included a 5 day tour, so as well as my case, I packed a small holdall, to carry the stuff I needed for the tour.
Bear in mind that your case will probably receive a severe battering during its journey.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfy footwear, old faithfuls rather than brand new!
Slipon/offs if visiting museums etc, as you usually have to remove your shoes.
Cool loose clothing in natural fibres for the heat/ humidity.
Fleece/ jacket if travelling in the mountains/ Periyar etc.It can get quite cool at night./ early morning.
Cool loose fitting clothing can be purchased easily, either off the peg, or have your own designs made up, cheaply and within 24 hours.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: See my Kovalam page. Most resorts, towns cities have stock of toiletries, and pharmacies/ hospitals / doctors to hand.

Photo Equipment: Plenty of films, batteries etc....This is photographers paradise. Films can be purchased in resort, Cities and from isolated kiosks. See my Kovalam page.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If swimming in Kovalam beware of the strong undercurrents..... a swimming costume/ sports style bikini is preferable to a flimsy bikini, as you'll soon be parted from it!

Miscellaneous: torch/ tea lights..for the power cuts
wet wipes/ antiseptic hand wash/ tissues..restaurants/toilets often don't have soap or loo roll...

Luggage and bags: Travel light. But make sure you have a separate camera bag.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The weather is warm the year around, though during winters a light woollen would help. Sneakers and a windcheater/ranicoat/umbrella is a must.

Photo Equipment: The more, the merrier.

Luggage and bags: Next time I'm in this part of the world, I'm only bringing a bike currier bag. What you need will fit in that.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Shoes, buy a pair of sandles there. Depending on where in the world you are from buy your cloths there too. Even the t shirts I had from living in Europe were too thick. You can buy a serong (spelling?), and use that as a towel, and blanket.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Toilet paper there is 30 rupees a role, so when in Rome..............

Photo Equipment: You can buy film just about anywhere.
