Luggage and bags: Light sturdy luggage to withstand the rigours of airport handlers, and also light enough for your transfer to hotel/ accom.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Long sleeved shirts, cotton trousers, long dresses/skirts, especially if visiting museums, palaces etc.
It can be hot and humid.
Shorts (even long Bermuda style) can cause offence in Trivandrum - see my Warnings and Dangers tip
Comfy shoes - slip on/off - socks - You need to remove your shoes when entering museums, palaces etc.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Carry all essential medicines (and prescriptions/certificates etc) Immodium etc. eye drops - it can be dusty

Photo Equipment: Kerala is a photographers delight, so carry as much as you can!
Trivandrum has some pic worthy sights. Shops/kiosks sell films.
Be aware of locals not wanting their pic taken - or of the request for money if you do take a pic!

Miscellaneous: wet wipes, anti-bacterial handwash, toilet paper/tissues. Sun screen. Bottled water.

Get wet or carry an Umbrella

Luggage and bags: One thing to be kept in mind while travelling to any place in kerala is the Umbrella, plastic shoes and a rain coat. Be prepared for unpredictable rains. It may just happen when you are admiring the sun out in the open. The rainy season starts in the month of june and goes uptill Aug. After which it again starts off in the month of Oct till Dec.

But unsesonal rains may play spoilt sport during other months too..

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Plastic shoes and rain coat a must, if you land up in the rainy season.
