The South Park is situated at Trivandrum, the capital city of the southern Indian state of Kerala. The South Park is just 6 Kms. away from the Trivandrum International Airport and 3 Kms. from the Railway Station and the City Bus Stand. It is just adjacent to the University College.
This restaurant is inside The South Park. I have been to this restaurant twice for lunch in 2006 july. The buffet here is mouthwatering, although most of the dishes are in south indian style. The non vegetarian food is just delicious. The service is really good and the ambience gives you a feeling of comfort and eliteness. What i liked was the non-veg food in kerala style, which was spicy and delicious.
The lunch time is till 3 PM after which it closes.
Favorite Dish: ..any non-vegetarian dishes...
This is a nice place to have North Indian and South Indian Dishes. The restaurant is big, and the ambience is pleasant. It is also very reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the helpful nature of the Service staff.
Ambrosia, being the only fast food outlet in the town is always crowded. This is what prompted me to also visit the restaurant. The restaurant is centrally located at the Bakery Junction. The ambience as i entered was pleasant. The service staff were kind enough to show me a table.
I ordered Burgers, Pizza and French Fries. The french fries were soggy, the pizza base was a soft bread, and the burger tasted awful. Overall it was a disappointment. We could'nt finish our order and had to leave and move out.
Considering that ambrosia is the only fast food outlet, i guess it is a nice place to spent some time.
Sindoor Plaza is situated in Kowdiar. This is a nice restaurant with a indoor A/C restaurant. A garden restaurant and a terrace top. I attended a buffet dinner here, it was a mix of Indian and Chinese dishes. There were lots of options and one could chose from the large mix of Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian food available. The food was delicious, but the place was rather too crowded. My favourite was the non-vegetarian kerala food.
I got into this restaurant for lunch, tired after a long day's work. What prompted me to try it out was that t was situated at the heart of the city near statue. The restaurant is in the Comfort Inn hotel.
The ambience inside the restaurant was pleasant and refreshing, the staff was pleasant , but I was the only customer to service. The menu was passed on to me and it had only vegetarian chinese food. I had no choice but to try it out. Overall the food was good and different, although it was an Indian version of the chinese.
When u travel thru Kerala u will see such Road side fast food stalls.
The food is tasty..and less adultration tooo.
But few only dare to stop and enjoy it since the sitting arrangements etc are not very ideal for a person who has been travelling for some days together...
There are pure veg and nonveg stalls..
From Veg stalls..u can fill ur stomach with Tattu Dosa or plain dosa or masala dosa.. Idli ..vada ..etc..
From non veg stalls u can hav ..Pathiri with chicken curry
Beef roast with paratha\chapathi
or chilli beef with chapathi etc...
Favorite Dish: Thattu dosa and Masala Dosa
The staff will ask you what sort of food you like and how spicy you would like it before he actually starts cooking. For us it was a little difficult as my husband an I like our food very spicy, and my parents like it very bland.
The table was laid outside in a lovely setting with fairy lights on the fence and candles on the table. The food was exquisite and there were dishes to everyone's taste.
Favorite Dish: Although all the food was delicious, my absolute favourite was a ginger chutney (served so that we could make the food spicier than my parents). I enjoyed it so much I asked for more, and the chef was delighted!
Ambrosia is situated between Bakery Juction and Aristo Junction.
I you are the one who love to have a change from the typical kerala food this is the place..
A small joint but ambience is superb..
Favorite Dish: Pizza Mexicania
If you are in the mood for lobster, just go to the nearest beach and ask the local fishermen. They might have a fresh just caught one ready for you. You buy it, take it to the nearest beach restaurant and have it grilled... delicious!!
Thali is a delicious local dish made of rice, fish/meat, vegetables and some sauces. In the villages they serve it on banana leaf, and you are supposed to eat it with your fingers, taking the rice and mixing it with the sauces and so.
for those whom nonvegetarian is a must , the buffet in this restaurant is a value for money. The nonvegetarian dishes especially variety of chicken is less spicy and very tasty. The choice in the salad bar is limited but good.not much variety in desserts either.
They have added a chat and bhelpoori corner quality average.
Favorite Dish: appam and chicken varieties
We first visited this restaurant on a valentines day. One thing that you will like about this restaurant is the ambience and the traditional kerala feel that it gives in a star hotel setting. I was thrilled at the prices too. 245 Rs( (about 5$) a buffet ( A three course dinner). But then I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The soups were really good, but the main course was disappointing. Overall I may go back to the restaurant just for the ambience and to try out something apart from the buffet...
If you are a health conscious foodie this place is ideal for chicken and mutton biryani (Kerala style). They make it with less oil and spices and is yummy. Also it doesn't burn a huge hole in ones pocket.
This restaurant was reccomended to me by the hospitality desk at the hotel where I stayed. I had a very good experience here. The service and food = very good.
Not everything on the menu is always available, it seems that 11h00 to 15h00, and then the evenings are the best times to visit. During these periods, most foods are available.
Favorite Dish: Masala Dosa
A very good tandoori restaurant. The restaurant is in the Recidency Tower hotel. You have beautiful views of the city from here.
The food and service = very good.
I would love to go back there!
