Nearest major airport is Cochin International airport which is about 125 km away. Taxi services are available from airport to Munnar which cost about Rs 3000. Cochin airport is well connected to all major cities in India and many cities abroad.
Unique Suggestions: Nearest rail head is at Angamaly or Alwaye, both are nearly 120 km away from Munnar. Angamaly is an important rail junction in Ernakulam – Trissur route and is well connected to all cities in India. Taxi from Angamali to Munnar costs about a minimum charge of Rs 2500.

hi....
your plan is good ..no doubt but i like to make some changes to your plan.. because its your honeymoon: the symbolic beginning of your life as a married couple. It is an ideal chance to relax and know each other. Now since the time is so special, the place how you spend your honeymoon is equally special. Thus the changes are as follows:
Day1: Arrive Cochin
Day2 : Cochin
Day3 : Cochin - Munnar
Day4 : Munnar
Day5 : Munnar - Vandanmedu
Day6 : Vandanmedu - Periyar
Day7 : Periyar -Trivendrum - Kollam
Day8 : Kovalam
Day9 : Kovalam - Varkala
Day10: Varkala - Kollam
Day11 : Kollam - Alleppey
Day12 : Alleppey - Mararikulam
Day13 : Mararikulam-Cochin
Day14 : Cochin - Departure
This according to me will be a better plan for you because the number of days are the same but it will be comparatively less tiring for you both and thus in this way you will be able to spend spend some time with your newly married. For more information on this plan you can visit http://www.indiantraveldestinations.com

Beware of many of the tourist shops selling trips, as you will find a lot of these will over charge for many of the trips. If you want an honest person to book your trips with , then go Princess Street and book your trips with Stanley Wilson Tours. Stanley Wilson was recommended to us by a friend, and initially we was not sure at first whether to trust him. On asking other agents for prices we found that Stanley Wilson was as cheap as anyone, but more importantly the trips we went on were first class. Stanley does a houseboat trip away from all the tourists. All you see on the back waters is the locals. All these boats are not motorised and are propelld by a punt. It is so peaceful and tranquill. You will not be disappointed!! Another excellent trip is to the hill station Munnar to see the tea plantations. Be warned it is much cooler due to the higher altitude-4000ft above sea level. It is nice to get away from the heat and humidity of the coastal regions!! Stanley does other trips, but hese were the two my wife and I went on. I believe he does many more good trips.

We had a confirmed booking in the bamboo village and cottages in Varkala. On arrival we were simply told that we won't get the booked cottages because the guests at the places are extending their stay and 'they can't do anything about it'. Seems like it is not a one off incident because our taxi driver told us to 'confirm the confirmation' and insisted that we get our luggages off the taxi ONLY when they hand the key over to us for the room.
Unique Suggestions: Words of wisdom:
no confirmation is a confirmation. don't waste your time and move to some other place. there seems to be plenty more around.

Unfortunately Zoo in Keralam are not great ( not even good )!!
For example, The Zoo in Thiruvananthapuram ( Trivandrum ) is very bad, one can say.
Because it is not well maintained.
If you are a foreign traveler please dont waste your precious time by visiting this Zoo, as you have seen lot and lot better Zoos around the world than this one.
Fun Alternatives: As I said in my other pages, Keralam is a treasure of lot of other precious things for your enjoyment for your body, mind and to your sences.
So If you are a foreign traveler, the time you spent here is more precious.
SO instead of watching the Zoos please spend your time for enjoying other precious treassures of Keralam instead of wasting your valuable time in the Zoom of here.

Its not really a Tourist Trap just a bit weird.
When you are walking around the Memorial at Vivekananda rock, there are a lot of tourists from other parts of India. They are not used to seeing Westerners, and like to have a picture taken with you.
Unique Suggestions: Carry a combe with you!
Just think you are David Beckham for the Day!
Fun Alternatives: Come on everyone would like to be famous just for one day.

There are hundreds of massage and ayurvedic "clinics" near Kovalam Beach, and most of them charge an exhorbitant sum for a hopeless, and quite painful massage. There are very few good massage and relaxation spas in the area, most of which are in the upmarket hotels like the Leela Palace, and the Taj.
Unique Suggestions: If you must go to these places, see at least 3-4 massage centers, and go to the best and bargain hard.
Fun Alternatives: Roll around the beach!! Some of Kerala's beaches are supposed to be very therapeutic and are widely believed to be holy.

Our tourist trap included a sane human being called Munjay, he was tricked into coming with us thinking it would be a joy ride, but it turned out to be quite a ride for us in return.
Unique Suggestions: Our local knowledge of munjay is quite a lot, but in short i would like to add that he is a complete entertainer. Take one along where ever ur going to kill the boredom and for a lot of fun!!!!
Here in this snap he attempting to capture a small flower on his equally small camera, and arsh bhai is bedazzled.
Fun Alternatives: Meet us
