This is one of the most magnificent temples in India. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this large temple is aesthetic and authentic. It is located in the main center of the town and has a rich history. There are many shops around the temple area and a large ground adjoining the temple premises. This ground is used to hold exhibitions and other gatherings.

This is a very small restaurant. Seats just about 14 people. They serve simple vegetarian local food. The nool puttu/string hoppers; idly; dosa; appam -- are all very tasty. The food is very inexpensive.

Favorite Dish: Sadhya meal served in the afternoon is good and unlimited!
The wheat grass juice, variety of gooseberry juices
    Tapioca boiled plain and spicy
    Multi grain ada
    Idly

Many restaurants like the Oushadi restaurant serve hot broken red rice kanji or gruel. It is served along with brown chick peas and pickle or tomato chutney. You get a very big bowl full of water broken par boiled red rice. If you are not a big eater, then two people can share one bowl. You can ask for extra kadala curry or chick peas curry. This is very healthy and a favorite of the locals.

Snehapuram in Pudhukkaadu is a potters' village. Hire a cab and spend a day there. You will not find any places to eat and so it is better to pack some lunch or snack and water bottles. It is simply amazing that in this small, remote village some spectacular designs in pottery are made. You will also be amazed at the prices. They are so low. There are just a few families doing this craft and your purchases will greatly help them.

La Femme is a wonderful beauty saloon/ parlor for ladies. It is in the Therkkemadom Road. You can have facials and other beauty treatments. The place is clean and has well trained staff. The prices are about average that you would find else where in India, maybe a bit steep for a small town like Thrisshur, but you get quality.
